Hi friends! Today’s card has me dreaming of sunshine, ocean breezes, and a little crafty beach time. I’m sharing a project using the new June KOTM from La La Land Crafts. This month’s kit is full of tropical details, and Sunshine Marci makes the sweetest focal point.
Card Details
I started this tropical card with a piece of patterned paper from the Summer Vacation Paper Pack. The paper measured 3 1/2 by 6 inches, so I trimmed it down to 3 1/2 by 5 inches. Then, I layered the panel onto teal cardstock, leaving about 1/8 inch on each side of the card base panel.
Next, I stamped Sunshine Marci from the June KOTM and colored her with Copic markers. I love how her bright dress adds such a cheerful pop against the beachy background. I also die cut the Tropical Leaves Frame Die (from the kit), Tropical Flowers Die (from the kit), Spring Blossoms Small Die, and Little Grasses Die.
Instead of using colored cardstock, I colored all of the die-cut elements with Copic markers. Next, I began arranging my little tropical scene. I tucked the greenery around the frame and layered the flower along the bottom for extra tropical flair.
For the sentiment, I used the Scalloped Sentiment Labels Die to die-cut the sweetest sentiment for my scene. I added the Color-Me Enamel Dots as the centers of the blossom die-cuts.
