Hello, crafty friends! Bright ocean colors and whimsical sea creatures always make me ready for a little underwater cardmaking adventure. Today’s handmade card features new products from the La La Land Crafts Summer Release, along with a few older favorites.
Card Details
I began by die-cutting three separate layers with the new Tidal Layers Die. I cut one layer from the Summer Mix Paper Pack, and the other two layers from light blue and white cardstock.
Next, I stacked the pieces to create a dimensional underwater frame. I added foam adhesive between each layer for extra depth and separation. The curved openings and tiny bubbles make this die perfect for ocean-themed handmade cards.
I stamped the adorable octopus from the Sea Ya Later Clear Stamp Set. Then, I colored him with Copic markers in warm yellow and orange shades. His little blue balloon makes him look ready to float away on a seaside vacation.
To build the underwater scene, I mixed several dies from previous releases. First, I used the Olive Branches Die to add leafy ocean plants around the frame. I also transformed the Cherry Blossom Branches Die into flowing seagrass and added pieces from the Corals Die. I love finding unexpected ways to stretch my cardmaking supplies. Finally, I cut the sentiment with the Scalloped Sentiment Labels Die and added it near the bottom.
