Christmas in July always puts me in the mood to create something playful, snowy, and full of holiday cheer. Apparently, even Santa enjoys hiding behind the Christmas tree! The new Evergreen Wishes Release from Brass & Bliss Craft Co inspired this cheerful handmade Christmas card. I combined a mischievous Santa image with layered arches and a snowy charcoal background.
Card Details
I started by die-cutting the largest arch die from the 5802-05D Dash Dot Nested Arches Die using dark gray cardstock. Next, I blended dark gray ink around the edges. This added contrast and created a soft glow toward the center.
To give the background plenty of wintry texture, I stamped the 3461 Splatter Background Stamp with white pigment ink. After the ink dried, I trimmed the panel with the largest die from 5802-03D Dash Dot Nested Rectangle Die.
Next, I stamped the playful Santa and Christmas tree from the 38035 Jolly Old Mischief Stamp Set. I colored the image with Copic markers, then I cut it out with the coordinating 38035 Jolly Old Mischief Die Set.
For the sentiment, I stamped Merry Christmas inside the arch. I added white embossing powder and heat set it for a crisp finish. The bright white lettering stands out beautifully against the charcoal background.
Before assembling the card, I added a soft blue patterned paper mat from the 2406 Home For the Holidays Paper Pad. Finally, I attached the main panel with foam adhesive and added the colored image. I adhered everything to an A2 card base to complete my handmade Christmas card.
