Hi crafty friends! A cozy reading nook, a good book, and a furry friend nearby sound like the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Today, I’m sharing two book-themed handmade cards featuring the August 2026 Kit of the Month from La-La Land Crafts.

Card One
First, I stamped Bookish Marci and the fluffy cat from the Reading Buddies Clear Stamp. I colored both images with Copic markers and used my ScanNCut to cut the images out.
Next, I die-cut the Bookshelf and Bookshelf Elements. I used brown cardstock for the bookshelf and added shading with similar markers. For the elements on the shelf, I die-cut them out from white cardstock and colored the books, plant, and typewriter with my markers. Additionally, I added white gel pen highlights for extra texture.
Then, I layered the patterned paper from the Life Documented Paper Pack onto an A2-sized yellow cardstock panel. I centered the bookshelf and arranged the accessories across the shelves.
Finally, I added Marci and her reading companion along the bottom. The sweet friendship sentiment completed this cozy book-themed scene.

Card Two
For my second card, I stamped the cat and basset hound from the Reading Buddies Clear Stamp. After coloring them with Copic markers, I cut out each image with my ScanNCut.
Next, I created the aqua bookshelf and added colorful books, storage boxes, and a globe. I also used the Pet Bed Die to give the sleepy basset hound a comfortable reading spot.
Then, I layered floral patterned paper from the Note to Self Paper Pack onto peach cardstock. Finally, I placed the cat across the top of the bookshelf and added the sentiment to finish the scene.
