Paper Nest Dolls Rose Princess ~ colored with Spectrum Noir Markers

Hey everyone,

A few months ago while at a stamp show, I discovered new to me stamps from a company called The Paper Nest dolls. They are super cute, cartoony type of characters created after the owners’ children.
I was super excited to find that they have a category for Fairytales as I found two stamps that I had to immediately add to my collection.
Paper Nest Dolls Rose Princess handmade card colored using Spectrum Noir Markers.

To create this card, I started by stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink onto a piece of Spectrum Noir paper and colored the image using Spectrum Noir Markers.

Markers I used
Dress/Hair band: CT3, CT4 and GB3
Hair: TN3, TN5 and EB5
Skin: FS2, FS6 and FS3
Rose: DR3 and DR5
Stem: CG3 and CG4
Earrings and Broch: TB5 with glossy accents

I cut the stamped image using Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 17 die and did a little ink blending using Distress ink in Antique Linen with a finger dauber to cover some of the white background.

To put the cards together, I wanted to challenge myself and step out of my card making comfort zone of a minimalist approach. I’ve been playing with paper layering and wanted to incorporate that here.
I used a yellow-ish patterned paper from K & Company paper pad from the Jubilee collection that I cut down to 5.25” x 5.25” and an orange-ish strip cut down to 1.75” x 5.25” which I adhered to a 5.5” x 5.5” cream colored card base.  To embellish this card a bit, I used a couple of flowers, several gems and one very glittery butterfly all from Recollections.
I suppose I could have kept going but that minimalist personality started to come out again and I thought this was plenty embellished.
My daughter was so excited to watch me create this card, as a few months ago we saw the movie Beauty and the Beast and she claimed the card for her own.

It was an awesome movie that brought me back to my childhood when the animated movie was released long ago!
I had so much fun creating this card that I wanted to enter it in the Paper Nest Dolls challenge Anything Goes over on their blog.
That’s it for me today, as always thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
