Hello crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a seriously adorable winter card that just makes me smile every time I look at it. There’s something about cozy winter scenes, sweet little critters, and cool blue tones that feels extra magical this time of year. This card features the sweet owls from the La-La Land Crafts December Kit of the Month, and I had so much fun bringing this wintery scene to life. Let’s take a peek at how it all came together!
Creating the Card
I started my card by thumbing through the paper pack and instantly fell in love with a blue-toned winter scene paper. It set the perfect chilly-but-cozy backdrop for these adorable owls.
Next came one of my favorite parts, coloring! I colored all of the stamped images and die-cuts using my Copic markers, listed below.
Dark Feathers: W7, W5, W3
Light Feathers: W3, W2, W1, W00
Eyes: B23, B21
Blue: B26, B24, B23
White: W2, W1
Beak/Feet: YR04, YR02
Yellow: Y17, Y15, Y11
Greenery: G29, YG67, YG17

To build the scene, I die-cut all of the elements using white cardstock. Some of the die cuts were colored with markers, while others were ink blended to add depth and variation. Mixing coloring and ink blending really helps bring the scene to life while keeping everything cohesive.

Once everything was ready, I arranged all the elements, played with placement until it felt just right, and finished the card by adding the perfect sentiment to tie it all together.
I absolutely love how this card turned out — it’s sweet, cozy, and perfect for winter birthdays or cheerful seasonal happy mail. The December Kit of the Month makes creating detailed scenes so easy, and those owls? Total heart-stealers.
