Easy Watercolor Background | Save the Crafty YouTuber Video Hop

Hi everyone, I am so excited to join all of the amazingly talented group of cardmakers for this years’
Save the Crafty YouTuber Video Hop. This is the 4th hop hosted by the very lovely Justine Hovey to discover and
celebrate the crafters of cardmaking video tutorials!

Heffy-Doodle-Otter-Side

For my card, I wanted to create an easy and quick watercolor background featuring Heffy Doodle’s Otter Side stamp.

I began by stamping out the images of the waves from the stamp set onto a piece of watercolor paper cut down to an
A2 sized panel. I used Versamark ink to stamp the images out and then I added white embossing powder
and heat set it with my heat tool.

To watercolor the background, I used several inks of Distress Oxide by smooshing a bit of ink onto my craft mat and
adding clean water to the ink. Using a #6 watercolor brush, I scribbled the ink onto the dry background panel. I used
Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink, Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink,  and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink
to create a beautiful ocean background.

While the background panel was drying, I stamped out all of the adorable otter images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto
Neenah Solar White 80lb. cardstock and used Copic markers to color them in.

Head and Body:  E31, E29, E25, E23 then E47
Face and Belly: E30, E23, R22, R20
Ball: YG00, YG09

After I finished coloring, I used the ScanNCut machine to cut all of the images out for my card. I also created a sentiment by
stamping it onto a piece of black cardstock and heat set it with white embossing powder, then using a thin fishtail
banner to die cut the sentiment strip out.

To add a little interest in the card, I used the Heffy Doodle Skinny Imperial Rectangle Frames and die cut several pieces
of white cardstock. I adhered the frames together for dimension and add it to the center of my card.

In the video tutorial below, I’m sharing the process of creating this card as well as a chance to win a $25 gift certificate
to Scrapbook(dot)com which I will pick from the comments left on MY VIDEO!

Have fun hopping along and thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
