Altenew Craft-A-Flower Coreopsis Thank You Card with Embossed Background

Sometimes a card just calls for bright color and big happy flowers, and this one absolutely delivered! I wanted to create something cheerful and eye-catching. You know, the kind of card that instantly brings a smile when someone pulls it out of the envelope.

The beautiful layered flowers of Coreopsis are the star of this design. The bold pink petals pop perfectly against the bright gold background to create a playful contrast that feels fresh and energetic.

I began by embossing a white cardstock panel using the Altenew Diamond Stars 3D Embossing Folder. To highlight that texture, I used a makeup wedge to lightly brush gold stenciling paste over the raised areas of the embossed panel. This technique allows just a touch of shimmer to catch on the pattern without filling in the entire panel.

Next, I die-cut and assembled the layered flowers using the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Coreopsis Layering Die Set. I added bold pink ink on the edges of each petal.

I arranged the flowers and the leaves across the panel until the composition felt balanced. Then, I die-cut a “thank you” sentiment from the Altenew Timeless Sentiments Die Set.  Lastly, I added a few black ink splatters to bring a little artistic texture and tie the whole design together.

This card was created as part of a fun Instagram card hop themed “Let It Shine.” The touch of gold stenciling paste adds just the right amount of shimmer to the embossed background and helps those bright Coreopsis blooms really stand out.
