Pattie’s Creations Duckie with Rain Boots | Lil Patch of Crafty Friends | Design Team Project

Good morning everyone, it’s time for a new challenge on the Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog. The theme is
always ANYTHING GOES and this week, the design team is creating projects with Pattie’s Creations images. For my card today,
I created a rainbow-inspired Duckie With Rain Boots image.

Being this a time of somewhat uncertainty, I wanted to find ways to encourage myself and others to believe in rainbows after the storm.

I began the card by printing the digital image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. cardstock with a laser printer and
printing on regular copy paper the same image.

I quickly fussy cut the copy paper image out and added temporary adhesive to the back to create a mask.

At that point, I masked the duckie image and stamped out a rainbow using a stamp by The Stamps of Life behind the focal image,
and then masked the rainbow to ink blend the open areas with Distress Oxide ink in Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean.

Leaving the masks in place, I splattered the panel with water and blotted it dry with a clean paper towel.

The most fun part of creating a one-layer card is (for me, anyway) is removing the masks and seeing the images come to life.

I used Copic Markers to color the entire scene other than the sky background.

Copic Markers I used

Duckie: Y38, Y15, Y8, Y4, Y2, Y00 Beak: YR04, YR12
Umbrella/Boots: W9, W7, W5, W3, W1
Rainbow: R29, R24, R22, YR07, YR04, YR12, Y17, Y13, Y11
G19, YG09, YG13, B16, B04, B02, V17, V15, V12
Clouds C3, C1, C00, Blender
Sidewalk: C5, C3, C1, C0
Water: B00, BG00

To finish this card, I trimmed the main panel slightly and adhered it to an A2 sized black card base. Using a small sentiment
stamp, I stamped and white heat embossed then adhered it to the finished card with a little foam.
