Newton’s Nook Designs Peony Blooms | Copic Markers

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms

Happy Wednesday, crafty friends! I hope your week is fantastic so far and only gets better as we near the weekend. I have a simple card to share featuring Peony Blooms by Newton’s Nook Designs.

This is a fantastic set of beautiful florals to take center stage on my card for a special friend. I stamped the images out several times then used my Copic Markers to color them in. I am not a huge fan of yellow, except for flowers. So naturally, these had to be yellow.

After coloring the images, I used my ScanNCut to cut them out.

Copic Color Combinations

Yellow: Y00, Y04, Y08, Y18, Y38
 Green: YG00, YG03, YG17, YG67

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms

Working on the background, I trimmed a piece of smooth cardstock to an A7 size (5 x 7) panel, and ink blended the background. I used Spun Sugar Distress Oxide in the center, then blended outward with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide ink and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink at the edges. I splattered the panel with diluted white acrylic paint and pink ink to give my card a little texture.

Next, I stamped the sentiment and added a thin frame die-cut from black cardstock to frame the Peony Blooms to finish this card. And lastly, I arranged the images in the lower portion of the card with foam adhesive and added a few clear drops by Studio Katia.

One of my favorite color combinations is pink and teal, especially for Valentine’s Day. I added a pink with hearts patterned paper then layered an ink blended panel for contrast. I used Peacock Feathers on the outer edges and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink in the center.

Once the ink blended panel was die-cut, I splattered the panel with diluted white paint and teal ink for texture.

To finish my card, I added the sentiment and adhered the image with foam adhesive then placed the entire panel onto a white card base.

Pink and Main Puppy Love | Copic Coloring

Pink and Main Puppy Love

Hey crafty friends! Happy (almost) weekend. It’s close to that time of the year when people show feelings of love, affection, and friendship for those that they love and adore. With my mind on Valentine’s Day, I used the Puppy Love Stamp by Pink and Main to create this adorable card.

Typically, I stamp and color all of the images from a stamp set even though I rarely use all of them in one card. For this set, I colored the images with Copic Markers and used my ScanNCut to cut them out.

Copic Color Combinations

Brown Dog: E47, E44, E43, E41, R20, R24
Big Heart: R39, R29, R27, R24, R22
Spotted Dogs: Spots: E13, E11, Dogs: E50, E21
Pink: RV17, RV55, RV52. RV10
Black Dog: C9, C7, C5, C3
Blue: B01, B02, B04

Pink and Main Puppy Love

Mini slimline cards are becoming more common and I thought this little dog would fit perfectly on one. I ink blended the background with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink and added flicks of diluted paint for interest.

Next, I die-cut white cardstock with Cloud Sky Scene dies and stamped the sentiment with black ink. To finish the card, I adhered the images with foam adhesive and added the additional hearts with glue dots.

Hero Arts Togetherness Flower Bouquet | Copic Coloring

Hero Arts Togetherness Flower Bouquet

Hey crafty friends! It’s that time of the year again where I’m inspired to reach into my stash and start using my stamps that “I had to have but never used”. I seem to make this resolution every year and, after a few months, I stray back to my old buying habits. But every year I try and even though I won’t make it an entire year, I still consider any time I am using from my stash, a win!

Today I am sharing a card featuring Hero Arts’ Togetherness Flower Bouquet stamp. This is a stunning large floral that is the center of attention of my birthday card. I stamped the image using brown Copic friendly ink, then colored it with Copic Markers.

Copic Color Combinations

Pink: RV55, RV52, RV00, RV19
Peach: R12, R11, R00, YR02
Yellow: Y18, Y38
Leaves: YG01, YG05, YG17
Rose Leaves: G09, G05, G02, G12

Hero Arts Togetherness Flower Bouquet

On a white panel, I ink blended the background using Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink and a little Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink in the center. Then, I stamped the background with Peacock Feathers using Pearl Strings Bold Prints Cling stamp. I set the entire background with clear embossing powder.

To finish, I used a circle die-cut to center the floral image with foam adhesive. Next, I added the sentiment which I stamped and white heat embossed. And lastly, I added a few clear drops using liquid adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed this card, as always thank you so much for stopping by until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

Newton’s Nook Designs Winter Birds | Copic Coloring

Newton's Nook Winter Birds

Hey crafty friends! I hope you are keeping warm where ever you are. I’m in Florida and for us Floridians – 60’s is cold. Although it could just be me, but, this girl definitely misses the warm weather. Today’s card uses Winter Birds by Newton’s Nook Designs and is inspired by the current color challenge at Inky Paws.

I love cardinals, their spectacular red color is a symbol of absolute beauty. After stamping the images with Copic-friendly ink, I used my Copic Markers to color the images.

Copic Color Combinations

Cardinal: R39, R29, R27, R24, R17, R14, W7
Berries: C5, C4, C2

I struggled with the background quite a lot before settling on using a piece of patterned paper. I matted the cream music sheet piece of patterned paper to an A2-sized brown cardstock.  Interestingly enough, the combination worked.

Newton's Nook Winter Birds

Next, I used the small berry image to create a wreath surrounding the little cardinal and adhered those on a piece of vellum. I attached the cardinal to the center of the wreath with foam adhesive and centered a sentiment strip at the bottom.

It’s a simple card, with a vintage feel and very unlike me. But I absolutely love the way the card came together. I hope you do too! As always thank you so much for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

After my coloring was complete, I used my ScanNCut to cut the image out. Then, I used a stitched rectangle die to cut a piece of smooth white cardstock to create the background.

I ink blended the panel with Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink, and Festive Berries Distress Oxide at the edges. Next, I added some snowbanks using a die from my stash and added all the elements to the background.
