STAMptember 2020 | Whimsy Stamps Happy Pugmas

Hey crafty friends, I am so excited to participate in the 2020 STAMptember with Simons Says Stamp. Whimsy Stamps is collaborating with Simon Says Stamp to bring you Happy Pugmas Clear Stamp. The stamp set is exclusive to Simon Says Stamp and will not be restocked, once it is sold out!

These silly little pugs are perfect for those Christmas cards for that “One Friend” we all have. I created two cards featuring all of the images from this stamp set.

Whimsy Stamps Happy Pugmas

For the first card, I ink blended a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, and Blueprint Sketch. I spritzed some water across the panel and blotted it dry. Next, I splattered some diluted acrylic paint and left the panel to dry.

Using the Slimline Waves Die, I die cut a piece of white cardstock to create the snowy hills. To finish this card, I stamped out the sentiment with black Versafine Onyx Ink, added black embossing powder, and added the images to an 8.50” by 3.50” slimline card.

Whimsy Stamps Pugmas

For the second card, I ink blended a panel of white smooth cardstock using Distress Oxide ink in Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch at the top. I added a little sparkle with the Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel by Therm O Web over the top of Twinkle Stencil.

Once the panel was dry, I trimmed it down and adhered it to a matted card base. Using the Kinetic Straight Waves Die set, I die cut two snowy hills and adhered them to the background panel.

I finished the card by adhering the three silly Pugs to the center of the card and adding the white embossed sentiment at the top.

I encourage you to head on over to Simon Says Stamp to purchase this exclusive stamp set while supplies last. The Happy Pugmas Stamp set is available as a single stamp or as a bundle with the coordinating die. Visit the Simon Says Stamp Blog for more inspiration.

Halloween Shaker Card | Whimsy Stamps Gnome Witch

Hey there crafty friends, I am on the Whimsy Stamps Channel with a fun Halloween shaker card featuring the newly released Gnome Witch Red Rubber Stamp, Slimline Wobbly Window Die, and Vampire Paper Pack.

Whimsy Stamps Gnome Witch

To begin this card, I stamped out the images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in this little witch and her cat with Copic Markers.

Copic Markers Combination

Witch Skin: G17, YG09, YG06, YG11, YG00

Cat: N7, N5, N3, N1, N0
Broom: E29, E27, E25, E23

Whimsy Stamps Gnome Witch

After coloring my images, I used the ScanNCut to cut them out, and then I set them aside to work on the background.

For the background, I blended Distress Oxide ink in Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Black Sooth onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. This is my slimline background and I trimmed this panel down to 8.50” by 3.50” to fit just slightly larger than the slimline die.

I created the shaker window with foam strip adhesive and foam tape, added the sequence, and popped on my images to finish this card off.

I have a video tutorial of this card sharing the coloring and how I created the shaker card on the Whimsy Stamps Channel.

Sounds of Halloween Video Hop | Whimsy Stamps Spooky Kitties

Welcome to my stop on the Whimsy Stamps’ Sounds of Halloween Video Hop featuring the Whimsy Stamps’ Spooky Kitties Clear Stamp Set. This video is in collaboration with EZ Sounds Module from Invite By Voice Sound

Whimsy Stamps Spooky Kitties

The hardest part of recording the sound onto the module is finding the right sound for the card you will make. For my card, I wanted a witchy voice wishing Happy Halloween.

To begin my card, I created a card base by taking a 8.50″ by 11.50″ piece of cardstock and scoring the lengthwise panel at 3.75” at the first score line and 7.50” at the second scoreline. I created a second card base and combined the two together.

The images I used are from the newly released Spooky Kitties stamp set and I used my Copic Markers to color them in.

Copic Markers Combination

Cat: N9, N7, N5, N3, N1

For the background, I blended Distress ink in Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot over the slimline panel. I also blended Evergreen Bough, Black Soot, and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink for the grassy hills.

Whimsy Stamps Spooky Kitties

Once all of the images and background elements adhered to the front panel, I began working on adding the sound module to the inside of the card.

The video linked below shows the detailed step-by-step tutorial of creating this card. The giveaway information can be found in the video description on YouTube and how to enter. Watch the video below or follow the link to my YouTube Channel!

Whimsy Stamps Foolish Mortals and Spooks and Spells | Halloween Video Hop | GIVEAWAY

Hey there, I am so excited to join all of the lovely and talented crafters for a fun Halloween Video Hop organized by Crafter’s Video Collaborations Group.

Hop along with us as we inspire you with an array of Halloween projects for the upcoming season. Some channels along the way are offering a giveaway for the hoppers. On my channel, there is a giveaway so hop on to the video for all of the details.

Whimsy Stamps Foolish Mortals

To create my cutesy Halloween card, I used Spooks and Spells Stamp, Foolish Mortals Word Die, and I even brought in an older release stamp from Whimsy Stamps.

I began by placing a mask for the glowing moon at the top of my panel and ink blending with Distress Oxide inks in Victorian Velvet, Seedless Preserve, and Chipped Sapphire.

Next, I created some water spatters followed by black and white spatters using diluted acrylic paint. I removed the mask right away so that the ink on the mask does not seep into the cardstock below, and left the panel to completely dry.

Whimsy Stamps Foolish Mortals

While the background was drying, I stamped all of the images with Memento Tuxedo ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers.

Copic Markers Combination

Bat: N9, N7, N5, N3, B000, B0000, R22, R30
Moon: C1, C0, C00, Blender

I created the background by stamping the spooky scene from the Halloween Scream Clear Stamp set onto the ink blended background and began arranging the rest of my elements.

Whimsy Stamps Foolish Mortals

For the word die, I used black cardstock to die cut several pieces and then stacked them together to create a dimensional sentiment and added it to my card. I adhered the bat with foam adhesive across the moon and finished my card by attaching it to a piece of black cardstock onto a white card base.

Follow the link to my channel and see how I created this card and while you are there check out the details for entering my giveaway.

Good luck with your entry and as always thank you so much for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

Whimsy Stamps Aussie Friends | Angled Z-Fold Card

Hello everyone, I have a fun angled Z-Fold card to share with you featuring the newly released Aussie Friends Stamp set by Whimsy Stamps.

This was a technical card, at least for me because it required precise measuring. But in the end, I love the end result of this card and I would change a couple of things when I make this style of the card again.

Whimsy Stamps Aussie Friends

I began the card by cutting the cardstock by measurements I found at another card maker’s blog post, here and modified them slightly.

Copic Markers Combination

Kangaroo: E27, E25, E23, E31, E30, R22, R20
Koala: W7, W5, W3, W1, W0, R22, R20
Wombat: E77, E74, E71, E70
Tree E29, E57, E23, E30
Leaves G28, YG17, YG06, YG00

Whimsy Stamps Aussie Friends

For the background, I blended Distress Oxide ink on the entire front of the panel and partially on one of the back panels. Using Squeezed Lemonade at the bottom, Ripe Persimmons, Candied Apple, Wilted Violet, and Chipped Sapphire at the top to create this colorful background.

I finished the card by adding the images, small grassy hill border, and lined the back of the panel with black cardstock. I have a video tutorial of this card where I share how I created this card and how I colored the images with Copic Markers on the Whimsy Stamps Channel.

Whimsy Stamps Haunted Word Die and Haunted Paper Pack Halloween Card

Good morning everyone, we are slowly approaching Halloween season and Whimsy Stamps’ new release features a ton of fun and new Halloween themed stamps, dies, and papers.

Whimsy Stamps Haunted Paper and Haunted Word Die

For my card today, I used a scenic pattern paper from the newly released Haunted Paper Pack. I added the Haunted Word Die set and the Ghosts from the Boo Die set to complete this easy Halloween inspired card.

Scene cards are my absolute favorite of all card designs to create. While I enjoy coloring, having a few die-cut images and scenic pattern papers allows me to quickly put together those last-minute cards I may need.

Whimsy Stamps’ Slimline Dies Video Hop | Sugar Skull Cuties and Slimline Marquee Die

Hi everyone, welcome to my stop on the Whimsy Stamps’ Slimline Dies Video Hop. Did you know that Whimsy Stamps is the innovator of slimline dies, having been the first company to manufacture and introduce dies designed to help you create those increasingly-popular, slimline cards?

To celebrate that achievement, we are having a Video Hop and an Instagram Hop and giving one lucky follower a $25 gift certificate to the store.

For my card, I created a Dia De Muertos inspired card featuring the newly released Sugar Skull Cuties and the Slimline Marquee Die.

Light-up Halloween Card | Whimsy Stamps Boo Die Set

Hi crafty friends, I have a fun light-up Halloween card to share with you featuring the newly released Boo Die Set from Whimsy Stamps.

Whimsy Stamps Boo Die Set

As soon as I saw the ghosts, I knew I wanted to create a light-up card. Although this was my first ever light-up card, it was super easy to add the mechanism and create this spooky scene Halloween card.

Whimsy Stamps Boo Die Set.

I started by ink blending a panel using Seedless Preserve, Dusty Concord, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks. Next, I added black and white paint splatters to the panel using diluted acrylic paint.

Whimsy Stamps Boo Die Set

And it was time to put the light mechanism in the back of the panel and arrange the scene using the die-cut ghosts, moon, and the word die. I used an EZ Light mechanisim by Pearblossom Press.

I have a video tutorial of this card where I share how I created this card and added the mechanism.  Watch the video below or follow the link to the Whimsy Stamps Channel!

Halloween Card | Whimsy Stamps Spooks and Spells

Hi crafty friends, I have another Halloween card to share with you featuring the newly released Spooks and Spells Stamp from Whimsy Stamps.

Whimsy Stamps Spooks and Spells

To begin my card, I stamped out all of the images from the stamps set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. cardstock. Next, I grabbed some neutral grey markers to color in the two images I used on my card.

Copic Markers Combination

Bat: N9, N7, N5, N3, R22, R20,
Cauldron: N9, N7, N5, N3, N1, N0
Legs/Handle: E15, YR14, YR15

Whimsy Stamps Spooks and Spells

I used my ScanNCut machine to cut the images out. The images I stamped but did not color, I save those in the pocket storage with the stamp for another time.

For the background, I ink blended a Bristol Smooth panel using Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink. I spritzed the panel with water and blotted it dry, then splattered diluted black acrylic paint with a paintbrush.

Whimsy Stamps Spooks and Spells

Once the panel was completely dry, I used the Peekaboo Window # 4 Die to die cut the panel. Before placing the ink blended panel onto the card front, I matted the card base using black cardstock.

To finish this card, I added the images and the sentiment with foam adhesive and embellished the images with a little sparkle.

I have a video tutorial of this card where I share how I created this card and how I colored the images with Copic Markers. Watch the video below or follow the link to my YouTube Channel!

Alcohol Ink Background Cards | Whimsy Stamps Day of the Dead Frame Stamp

Good morning everyone, Halloween is in the air, and for today’s post I have two cards to share with you featuring the newly released Day of the Dead Frame Rubber Stamp.

Whimsy Stamps Day of the Dead Frame Rubber Stamp

For the first card, I created an alcohol ink background using Amethyst, Raspberry, and Eggplant alcohol inks by Ranger Ink.

I added all three of the inks onto a mini applicator felt pad and added a blending solution then pounced the ink back and forth around my panel until it created the marble texture look.

The background was so stunning as it was, that I stamped the Day of the Dead Frame onto the background and white heat embossed it. Just a little tip, that if you are embossing onto Yupo paper, you want to move the heat gun constantly so that the paper does not melt.

Whimsy Stamps Day of the Dead Frame Rubber Stamp

For the second card, I created another alcohol ink background this time using an orange palette. I used Sunshine Yellow, Sunset Orange, and Butterscotch alcohol inks by Ranger. Once again, I applied the alcohol ink as before, by adding it an applicator felt pad and pounced the ink onto a piece of Yupo Paper.

Once the background was dry, I stamped the Day of the Dead Frame image using black alcohol ink then fussy cut the image with a slight border.

To finish this card, I added the alcohol ink panel with foam adhesive to an A2 sized piece of pattern paper from the new Sugar Skulls Paper Pack and then added a couple of ghosts and the large word die-cut from the Boo Die Set.
