MFT Pure Innocence Tutu Cute~ Sketch Challenge 345~ Copic colored card

Hey everyone,

I’m back this week with an overdue post and an absolutely overdue time to myself to craft. It’s been a busy couple of weeks getting the kids back to school but they are finally starting with their regular schedule and I can get back to my craft time.

This week I wanted to start off with a card I made to participate in the MFT Sketch Challenge 345. For me, this particular sketch just begged to be made as a shaker card and I did just that (even though I’m still a bit intimidated by creating shaker cards).

MFT Pure Innocence Tutu Cute stamp colored with Copic markers and patterned paper handmade card.

To start, I stamped the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Tutu Cute image onto a piece of Spectrum Noir cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink, since it is a Copic friendly ink.

Copic colors I used to color my image:

Skin: E50, E51, and E53
Hair: E23, E25 and E29
Tutu and shoes: RV32 and RV34
Belt: C1, C3 and C5

I then added some shimmer to her dress and shoes and thought I would be fancy and use my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers in Pink Champagne, which changed the color of my image. That was not the intended action but it was fine. There is no starting over!

Next, I worked on the shaker window by first taking a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blending with Distress Oxide Ink in Worn Lipstick. I added a few sprays of Sheer Shimmer Spritz to activate and dabbed it with a paper towel.

Working on the top panel, I took a piece of white cardstock cut down to 4.25” x 5.5” and stamped My Favorite Things’ Star Celebration background with Altenew Rose Quartz dye ink. I cut a strip of American Crafts’ Dots & Stripes paper and adhered it to the star panel.

Taking a circle die, I cut the center out where the shaker would fit, creating the nested look for the shaker. However, this was an afterthought and there was some minor surgery to get the shaker to fit.

To put this card together, I created a background for the shaker with a cloud stencil and Distress Oxide Ink in Worn Lipstick. I know that it’s not a realistic cloud scene but blue just did not fit here. So we have pink clouds and that’s ok. I adhered the rest of the pieces onto the panel, added a sentiment and finished off the card with a few pieces of Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Confetti Mix.

I hope you enjoy this softer looking card as I don’t tend to make too many of these and as always thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

MFT Roses All Over ~ Gansai Tambi Water colored ~ Celebrate Card

Hey everyone,

I’m starting the week off with this very bright and bold card as my entry for the My Favorite Things Sketch challenge that they host on their blog each week.

My Favorite Things Roses all over Background stamp colored with Gansai Tambi Watercolors with gold embossing handmade card.

Using My Favorite Things’ Roses All over background stamp, I stamped the image onto a piece of Canson XL Watercolor paper with VersaMark ink and heat embossed the image with Rangers Gold Super Fine embossing powder.

I knew I wanted to use watercolors on this card so I got my Gansai Tambi Watercolors out that I received for my birthday a couple of months ago.
Working on one rose at a time, I added a little water and added my color loosely on parts of the petals, taking care not to cover the entire rose. Then, using a waterbrush I dispersed a bit of water around the rose.
Continuing on, I colored each rose individually by adding color and adding water. The colors I used for this background were number 35 (Carmine red) and number 36 (Wine red).

I die cut the panel using MFT’s Stitched Scallop Basic Edge die and I die cut a square out of the middle (keeping my fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong – whew!).
To put my card together, I adhered the water colored panel to a black cardstock base, added a mat and adhered the water colored square on top with some foam tape for added dimension.
To finish the card, I added a sentiment from My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Heart Bouquet stamp and cut it using My Favorite Things Stitched Sentiment Strip.
I really love using black, red and gold color combinations and I think this card turned out better than I envisioned in my head.

This is my completed card for the MFT Sketch Challenge and as always, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

I used MFT’s cute little girl from Pure Innocence Be Mime stamp set and stamped her onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink.
I colored the image using my Zig Clean Color Real Watercolor Brush pens.

To put this card together, I stamped a diagonal stripe on one edge using Hero Arts’ Deep Ocean hybrid ink. I cut a piece of adorable red with white stars patterned paper from Echo Park Birthday Wishes paper pad, and adhered it to an A2 top folding card base. I took a piece of grey cardstock and cut a stitched circle and the sentiment tag. The sentiment I used is from the same stamp set as the image and I stamped it using Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink. For final touches to the card, I added a few blue rhinestones from my stash.

My Favorite Things Sweet Succulents ~ Stuck with me card ~ MFT Sketch Challenge

Hey everyone,

This week I thought I’d use some of the stamps I picked up at the MFT Boutique in Eustis Florida a couple of weeks ago on my trip to Orlando.

My Favorite Things has a ton of adorable stamp and die sets, but for this week I choose to play with the stamp set called Sweet Succulents.

My Favorite Things Sweet Succulents handmade card colored using Spectrum Noir Markers.

I stared by stamping all of my images onto some Spectrum Noir ultra-smooth premium white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black dye ink.

Using my Spectrum Noir markers, I colored the images with the following makers:

The taller cactus: LG3, LG4, and LG5
Flowers: CR4 and CR8
The shorter cactus: CG1, CT2, and IG2
Flower: BP2, BP3 and BP5
Flower pot: BG5, BG6 and BG8

To create the raised picture frame for the little cacti to sit in, I cut a piece of polka dot paper from the Dots & Stripes Valentines collection from Echo Park Paper down to 4.25”,  and then cut the square out with a stitched square scallop edge frame die from MFT.  I added a pink border for the cacti image to nest in for a little color interest.

I used a scalloped stitched edge die from the die-namics stitched scallop basic edges to cut the polka dot paper and separate the frame from the base of the card.

To cover the white background inside of the picture frame, I did a little ink blending with Distress Ink Oxides in Worn Lipstick onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock.

I adhered all of my pieces to an A2 size white card base and stamped my sentiment using Lawn Fawns ink in Hippo color.

As I finished this card, I decided to enter it into the MFT Sketch Challenge over on their blog. Each week, a new challenge is posted with the required layout or your interpretation of the layout. I’ve got my fingers crossed that I win, since the prize is a $50 gift voucher for product in their store. And let’s be honest, who couldn’t use a little more MFT stamp and die sets.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

MFT Pure Innocence Woof you card

Hey everyone,

I’m here with another project I made this time using MFT Pure Innocence Woof you stamp set and coordinating die. I made two cards and reversed some of the color combination.
I started off by stamping the image onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock using Memento black ink. I colored both of the images with Spectrum Noir markers in the exact same way.

Here is a list of the markers I used

Hair: TN2, TN7 and TN8
Skin: FS2 and FS3
Overall shorts: BP3, BP4 and BP5
Shoes: IG4 and IG6
Dog: IG4 and IG6
Shirt/socks: I left it white and added a little shimmer with the clear Wink of Stella pen.

For the first card I used a pink glitter paper that I cut to 4.25” x 5.5” using the largest die from Lawn Fawn stitched edge rectangles. I adhered it to my A2 card base and added the patterned paper I cut using a scalloped stitched edge die from Gina Marie Designs.  Finally I added my images with foam squares for some dimension.

Using the sentiment from the stamp set, I embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder that I stamped on a piece of grey cardstock and cut it using the biggest banner die from Lawn Fawn’s Everyday Sentiment. I added a little heart cut from the same glitter pink paper and adhered it to the edge of the banner to complete this card.

For the second card I had to get a little creative and add the glitter to the grey card stock to create a little sparkle. Using silver glitter dust, a clear spray adhesive with ultra-fine glitter, I covered the entire piece of cardstock. I adhered that piece to my A2 card base and added the patterned paper that I cut using the scalloped stitched edge die. Adding the same sentiment with white embossing and my images on foam squares completes the second card.

I hope you enjoy these two little cards and I will have them listed in the shop for purchase in the near future.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
