Gerda Steiner Designs Catch A Wave | Copic Coloring

Gerda Steiner Designs Catch a Wave

Hey crafty friends! It is officially summer, and this little duck is celebrating in a big wavy way. In my part of the world, summer is pretty hot and we do spend a lot of time in the water. Although we don’t spend as much time at the ocean as this little ducky, we do hit the pool on most days.

For this beach-themed card, I used the little ducky from Gerda Steiner Designs’ Catch a Wave. I stamped all of the images onto white smooth cardstock and colored the images with Copic Markers.

Copic Color Combinations

Ducky: Y08, Y04, Y00 on the second blend I added YR04
Beak / Feet: YR18, YR04
Pink: RV17, RV55, RV52
Purple: V06, V04, V000
Blue: B29, B24, B32
Teal: BG05, BG01, BG000
Glasses: N7, N5, N3
Beach: E21, E23, E25
Shells: E43, E42, E40

Gerda Steiner Designs Catch a Wave

I used several dies to create the beach scene. First, I ink blended a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock with Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, and Wild Honey Distress Oxide inks. Next, I created the splatters with acrylic paint. And finally, I die cut the panel using an Avery Elle Ellements die.

For the bottom of the scene, I ink blended the ocean waves with Blueprint Sketch, the sand with Antique Linen, and die cut both of the pieces with Kinetic Straight Waves Die Set by Whimsy Stamps.

Gerda Steiner Designs Catch a Wave

To finish my card, I added a white heat embossed sentiment and arranged my images and die-cut elements using foam adhesive or liquid adhesive.

This little ducky sure has the right idea to start off the summer! As always, thank you so much for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

MFT Stamps We Beelong | Copic Coloring

MFT Stamps We Beelong

Hi crafty friends! Aren’t these bears adorable??? Well, if you ask me, ALL bears are adorable. I am a teddy bear collector and my love of teddy bears comes out of my childhood love for the teddy bear.

For this card, I used a recently released We Beelong stamp set by MFT Stamps. I began the card by stamping all of the images using Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. cardstock.

Copic Marker Combination

Bears: E44, E43, E42, E41, R30
Water: BG45, BG53, BG01, BG000
Flowers: RV19, RV02, Y17
Grass: YG17, YG05, YG01
Bee: Y17, Y15, Y11, W9, W5, W3, BG02, BG000

MFT Stamps We Beelong

For the background, I ink blended two hillside die cuts and the sky. Next, I added some hearts with a heart stencil then added interest with blue ink splatters.

Using a sweet sentiment from the stamp set, I white heat embossed it onto a piece of black cardstock before trimming it with a sentiment strip. Lastly, I added all of the elements to the front of my card panel using foam adhesive, liquid glue, or glue dots.

MFT Stamps Lovable Leopards | Copic Coloring

MFT Stamps Lovable Leopard

Hey crafty friends! It has been such a busy week that I absolutely needed some downtime and what better way to relax than to create a fun card. Normally, I find coloring to be my solace and these guys are just the cutest image.

Unfortunately, this stamp set is discontinued but there are a ton of other stamps similar to this one by MFT Stamps.

I started my card by creating the background first. Using MFT Stamps’ Mini Cloud Edges stencil, I created a fun cloudy sky with Distress Oxide Ink in Mermaid Lagoon. Next, I stamped and colored my images using Copic Markers.

Copic Marker Combination

Leopards: YR18, YR14, Y35, Y23, YR30
Nose/Snout: YR24, Y23, YR30
Brown: E29, E27, E25
Green: YG17, YG05, YG03, YG01

MFT Stamps Lovable Leopard

After coloring all of the images, I used the coordinating dies and set the images aside to continue creating the background.

I ink blended the grassy hill using Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink then added a little Lucky Clover to create some depth. For the last element on my scene card, I die-cut yellow cardstock and added Wild Honey and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide for dimension.

After coloring and ink blending, I began building my scene card by adding the image and die cuts with foam adhesive or liquid glue.

And finally, I heat embossed the sentiment onto a piece of black cardstock and trimmed it with a banner sentiment strip.

I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I enjoyed making it. As a bonus, I have the perfect recipients for this card in mind. I want them to know that even though we have not seen each other for a while, I hold them very dear in my heart.

MFT Stamps Magical Dragons | Copic Coloring

MFT Magical Dragons

Hey crafty friends! I needed to make a card for a wonderful friend of mine and reached in my stash of older stamps for this one. Being a huge fan of mythological creatures and dragons, as cute as these, they are at the top of my list.

I am slowly working through my stash of stamps that I had to have and never used, you know the one most of us crafters seem to have. And this set was perfect for the occasion. I started by stamping out all of the images with black ink and coloring with Copic Markers.

Copic Marker Combination

Teal: BG49, BG57, BG45, BG53, B00
On the second blend, I added BG72 in the shadows and BG11 to the highlight areas to create a teal blend.
Pink: RV17, RV52, RV52
Princess: Skin E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair: E30, E33, E31, YR31
Dress: RV17, RV55, RV52
Crown: Y26, Y21, Y02
Clouds: BG0000, BG000, BG01

MFT Magical Dragons

For the background, I created an ink blended background and a grassy hill using an older die from MFT Stamps. The Snowy Hillside Die-namics is not available anymore but there are several other similar products on the market.

Finally, to complete this card, I added a brown mat to an A2-sized white card base. Next, I layered the background elements using foam adhesive and added a white heat embossed sentiment strip onto the same brown cardstock.

MFT Stamps Magical Dragons

For a little relaxation, I colored the other images in this stamp set to use for another time.

Yellow/Pink Dragon: Y17, Y15, Y13, Y00
On the second blend, I added Y38 to shadow areas
Dot Texture: YR04, YR18

The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge | Day 5 | Dis Digi Stamps | Copic Markers

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing a digital stamp I colored following the Kit and Clowder Online Classes for the month of April for the Daily Marker 30 day coloring challenge for day 5!

Obviously it took several days or weeks rather to color this image up but I did finish coloring it today using my Copic Markers.

This is a large image with a lot of detail and I am definitely looking forward to creating either a card or another project with this image.

I am still continuing in coloring and participating in the Daily Marker 30 day Coloring Challenge which will end on June 30th. My hope is that I will be able to continue in sitting down every day to color for the joy of coloring.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge | Day 2 | Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea | Copic

Hello everyone,

For today’s blog post I am branching out and trying something new that I’ve never done before. I am giving myself time every day to sit down and color. With that, I am also participating in my first The Daily Marker 30 day challenge!

The Daily Marker 30 day Challenge 2018 featuring Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea stamp set and Copic colored.

I’m super excited that this particular challenge encourages you to color, even for just 10 minutes a day. And I will save all of my colored images and make cards a little bit later. But for now, I’m going to just allow myself to relax and color since coloring is my most favorite part of creating a handmade card.

For the 2nd day of the coloring challenge, I used a Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea stamp set which I colored using Copic markers. For the dolphin, I used some cool grey markers and the little turtle was colored in with the less saturated greens.

Thank you for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

P.S. I edit all my projects using Pic Monkey, which allows me to crop my images, add effects, adjust exposures, sharpen colors, minor touch up and add my watermark. Click here for more information

Gerda Steiner Designs’ Spring Bunny Friends ~ Copic colored ~ Just Because Card

Hello everyone,

I am again participating in the Gerda Steiner Progressive Monthly Challenge with this card featuring the Spring Bunny Friends digital stamp image.

Gerda Steiner Designs Spring Bunny Friends digital stamp colored with Copic Markers and Distress ink backgrounds handmade card.

I printed my digital image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock and colored my image using Copic markers.

Brown Bunny: E39, E37, E35, V93, V91, W9
Grey Bunny: W5, W3, W1, V93, V91
Flower: YG17, YG13, V09, V25, V22

After I finished coloring the image, I printed another copy onto regular copy paper and fussy cut the image out to make a mask.
I learned a little trick a while back of using copy paper as mask paper by adding a little bit of repositionable glue onto the printed image. I happen to use Aleene’s Tack-it Over & Over glue and letting it completely dry before I add it as a mask. I’ve never had a problem of it ripping or not being able to lift off of the original digital image.

Gerda Steiner Designs Spring Bunny Friends digital stamp colored with Copic Markers and Distress ink backgrounds handmade card.

I used Distress Oxide in Cracked Pistachio and an ink blending tool to add a little color to the background and filled some of the space with YNS Gumdrops enamel dots.
To put this card together, I die cut a purple panel from Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid 6×6 petite paper pad using the largest die from Lawn Fawn’s stitched rectangle stackable die set and adhered it to an A2 sized card base. I then die cut a green strip from the same paper pad and adhered it on top of the previous one.
Taking the focal point panel, I added it to the front with foam tape for a little dimension, stamped the sentiment onto a piece of green plaid scrap paper and added sparkle to the bunnies using the Spectrum Noir sparkle clear overlay pen to complete this card.

That’s all for me today, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

P.S. I edit all my projects using Pic Monkey, which allows me to crop my images, add effects, adjust exposures, sharpen colors, minor touch up and add my watermark. Click here for more information

Hello everyone,

Today I’m sharing my last Valentine’s Day inspired card for this year with the help of an adorable digi image from Paper Nest Dolls called Hugs and Kisses Emma.Paper Nest Dolls Hugs and Kisses Emma digital stamp colored with Copic Markers and patterned paper background Valentine’s Day handmade card.

I always print the digital images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock with a laser printer and cut the image using my ScanNCut2.

Using my Copic markers, I colored the image with the following color combination:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13 and R20
Hair: E29, E27, E25 and E53
Dress and socks: BG49, BG57 and BG53
Shoes: W9, W7 and W5
XO, Heart, Bows: R39, R29 and R27

Paper Nest Dolls Hugs and Kisses Emma digital stamp colored with Copic Markers and patterned paper background Valentine’s Day handmade card.

Working on the largest card panel, I started by cutting a piece of teal paper using the largest die from Lawn Fawn’s Stitched rectangle die set and adhered it to an A2 top folding card base. Next, I cut a piece of red embossed paper from a Recollections Valentine’s Day paper pad set just slightly smaller than the previous card panel and adhered it on top. And finally I added a hearts patterned paper cut with MFT’s Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle to a teal mat with some foam tape on slightly askew for my main focal image to sit on.

This card will end my Valentine’s Day series for 2018 and will be entered into the following challenges:

Paper Nest Dolls February Challenge,
Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #159 Add a heart,
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Simons Says – Add a die cut,
Cardz TV Anything Goes Challenge #34

That’s all for me today, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
