The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge | Day 2 | Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea | Copic

Hello everyone,

For today’s blog post I am branching out and trying something new that I’ve never done before. I am giving myself time every day to sit down and color. With that, I am also participating in my first The Daily Marker 30 day challenge!

The Daily Marker 30 day Challenge 2018 featuring Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea stamp set and Copic colored.

I’m super excited that this particular challenge encourages you to color, even for just 10 minutes a day. And I will save all of my colored images and make cards a little bit later. But for now, I’m going to just allow myself to relax and color since coloring is my most favorite part of creating a handmade card.

For the 2^nd day of the coloring challenge, I used a Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea stamp set which I colored using Copic markers. For the dolphin, I used some cool grey markers and the little turtle was colored in with the less saturated greens.

Gerda Steiner Designs’ Spring Bunny Friends ~ Copic colored ~ Just Because Card

Hello everyone,

I am again participating in the Gerda Steiner Progressive Monthly Challenge with this card featuring the Spring Bunny Friends digital stamp image.

I printed my digital image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock and colored my image using Copic markers.

Brown Bunny: E39, E37, E35, V93, V91, W9
Grey Bunny: W5, W3, W1, V93, V91
Flower: YG17, YG13, V09, V25, V22

After I finished coloring the image, I printed another copy onto regular copy paper and fussy cut the image out to make a mask.
I learned a little trick a while back of using copy paper as mask paper by adding a little bit of repositionable glue onto the printed image. I happen to use Aleene’s Tack-it Over & Over glue and letting it completely dry before I add it as a mask. I’ve never had a problem of it ripping or not being able to lift off of the original digital image.

I used Distress Oxide in Cracked Pistachio and an ink blending tool to add a little color to the background and filled some of the space with YNS Gumdrops enamel dots.
To put this card together, I die cut a purple panel from Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid 6×6 petite paper pad using the largest die from Lawn Fawn’s stitched rectangle stackable die set and adhered it to an A2 sized card base. I then die cut a green strip from the same paper pad and adhered it on top of the previous one.
Taking the focal point panel, I added it to the front with foam tape for a little dimension, stamped the sentiment onto a piece of green plaid scrap paper and added sparkle to the bunnies using the Spectrum Noir sparkle clear overlay pen to complete this card.

Paper Nest Dolls Hugs and Kisses Emma ~ Copic Colored ~ Valentine’s Day Card

Hello everyone,

Today I’m sharing my last Valentine’s Day inspired card for this year with the help of an adorable digi image from Paper Nest Dolls called Hugs and Kisses Emma. Paper Nest Dolls Hugs and Kisses Emma digital stamp colored with Copic Markers and patterned paper background Valentine’s Day handmade card.

I always print the digital images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock with a laser printer and cut the image using my ScanNCut2.

Using my Copic markers, I colored the image with the following color combination:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13 and R20
Hair: E29, E27, E25 and E53
Dress and socks: BG49, BG57 and BG53
Shoes: W9, W7 and W5
XO, Heart, Bows: R39, R29 and R27

Working on the largest card panel, I started by cutting a piece of teal paper using the largest die from Lawn Fawn’s Stitched rectangle die set and adhered it to an A2 top folding card base. Next, I cut a piece of red embossed paper from a Recollections Valentine’s Day paper pad set just slightly smaller than the previous card panel and adhered it on top. And finally I added a hearts patterned paper cut with MFT’s Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle to a teal mat with some foam tape on slightly askew for my main focal image to sit on.

This card will end my Valentine’s Day series for 2018 and will be entered into the following challenges:

Your Next Stamp Love and Smiles ~ Copic colored ~ Valentine’s Day card

Hello everyone,

Today I’m sharing a card I made that was inspired by YNS’ Sketch and Color Challenge # 82 using the Love and Smiles stamp set perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Your Next Stamp Love and Smiles stamp set colored with Copic Markers and pattered paper backgrounds Valentine’s Day handmade card.

I started by stamping my main image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and Copic colored the image.

Color combination I used:
Bunny: RV66, RV63 and V01
Balloons: R39, R29 and R27

My card is based on the sketch design with the layers slightly altered. I used a piece of purple pattern paper from the DCWV Bright Patterns cardstock paper pad and cut it using the largest ripped rectangle die set. I adhered that piece on top of pink glitzy strip of cardstock from the DCWV Glitzy cardstock paper pad and added the main focal point of the bunny using some foam tape, the sentiment and a few glittery enamel dots to complete this card.

This was such an easy and fun card to create perfect for that last Valentine gift!

Gerda Steiner Designs Panda in Love~Copic Colored~Valentine’s Day handmade card

Hey everyone,

Valentine’s Day is only a little more two weeks away and I’m continuing to create some more fun and adorable Valentine’s Day cards. For this card, I used the January Challenge Image from Gerda Steiner Designs.

This adorable panda sitting in a pile of hearts is beyond cute and I love seeing the different designs for one image.
To start, I printed my image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock using a laser jet printer. With my ScanNCut 2, I cut the image with a slight white border and somehow lost a couple hearts in the process but it was no big deal.
I colored my image using Copic markers with the following combination:

Panda: (Black) W9, W7, W5 White W1, W2, 0, R21, R20
Hearts: R59, R39, R29 with a touch of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen

One of my favorite color combinations to use is teal with red or pink and I had the perfect teal Valentine’s Day paper in mind. From Crate Paper Main Squeeze collection, I had a 12×12 paper called Just Love, which I die cut using Avery Elle Postage Stamp die and added my focal point image. Working on the card base, I added a piece of striped red and white paper from My Favorite Things’ Hearts & Stripes Paper pack collection to the card base. I added the focal point panel slightly skewed with some fun foam for dimension and added a sentiment using a new to me stamp line from Cardz TV called Beary Sweet. As a final touch, I adhered three hearts to finish this card.

“Sharing the Love” Valentine’s Day Blog / Video Hop

Hey everyone,

I’m participating in my first ever blog hop with a blog post and a video tutorial of the card I made using some adorable products from Lawn Fawn.

Gerda Steiner Love you Sew much Bunny digital stamp ~ Copic colored ~ Distress Oxide Ink background

Hey everyone,

I’ve been on a digi stamp kick lately and this card is another one I made using a digital stamp. This one is from Gerda Steiner Designs for their Monthly Progressive Challenge.

After printing my digital image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock, I colored the image using my Copic makers. For the background, I tried a technique I saw Jennifer McGuire do a few months ago by using an acrylic block with ink swiped across and adding water. Then simply turn the acrylic block over onto a piece of water color paper, leave for a few minutes and remove slowly to allow to dry.

Color combination I used:

Bunny: E33, E35 and E37
Heart: RV04 and RV09

After stamping the sentiment from a Pink and Main Somebunny stamp set using VersaFine Onyx Black ink, the only thing left to do is put all the pieces of my card together with a bit of glitter for some sparkle.

My Favorite Things Polar Bear Pals ~ Copic Colored ~ Distress Oxides Background ~ Christmas Card

Hey everyone,

This weeks’ card is inspired by MFT’s Color Challenge # 82, and the card I made using MFT’s Polar Bear Pals. Personally, I love polar bears and I think they are one of the most majestic wild animals on this earth.

My Favorite Things Polar Bear Pals stamp set colored with Copic Markers and Distress Oxides ink backgrounds handmade Christmas card.

I started by ink blending a piece of watercolor paper using Distress Oxides Ink in Salty Ocean to create the background and die cut the panel using MFT’s Stitched Rectangle Stax’s.
The various polar bear images were stamped onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I am still learning to pair my combinations and blending but I think these images did not turn out too bad.

Working on the snow banks, I used a piece of white glittered cardstock and die cut the banks using MFT’s Stitched Basic Edges 2. I adhered those pieces to the card base and added my images with some foam tape for dimension.

All there was left to do to complete this card was stamp the sentiment and add some falling snow using 3D Puffy paint. In hindsight, I would have chosen a different sentiment and maybe even heat embossed it with white embossing powder. And my falling white snow has now taken on a bluish tint from the background. And lastly, I will be very happy to finish using up the glitter paper, as it flakes terribly. Although I am happy with the design of my card, some components not so much and will note to self for future!

Your Next Stamp Holiday Buddies ~ Copic Colored ~ Christmas Card

Hey everyone,

I still have so many Christmas cards to make and so little time left before I have to send them out. This week I made another Christmas card using very traditional Christmas colors to play along with YNS Sketch and Color challenge # 78.

Your Next Stamp Holiday Buddies colored with Copic Markers and Christmas patterned paper background handmade Christmas card.

I chose to create a card based on the sketch this week and use some very Christmas-y patterned papers for the card base, which I layered according to the sketch. For the focal layer, I used a stitched oval die to cut a piece of white cardstock and add my components on top.

The image of the dog is from Your Next Stamps’ Holiday buddies, at least I think it’s a dog but it could be a sheep, although he is one funky colored sheep if he is a sheep. The layer of trees is cut using Your Next Stamps’ Evergreen tree border die and sparkle green cardstock.

I colored the “dog” using Copic Markers with the following color combinations:

Bird: W5, W7, YR12 and YR15
Bird’s hat: YG03, YG05, R29 and R39
Dog: E11, E13 and E25
belly: 0, C1
Dog’s hat: R29, R39, 0 and C1

Your Next Stamp Holiday Buddies colored with Copic Markers and Christmas patterned paper background handmade Christmas card.

I adhered all of the components to an A2 sized card base and added my sentiment from the stamp set using a tinsel embossing powder in red. And that will complete another Christmas card!!! YAY!!!

Newton’s Nook Designs Christmas Delivery ~ Copic Markers ~ Distress Ink Background ~ Christmas Card

Hey everyone,

I have been falling a little bit behind my Christmas card making since I had a week off of work (preschool teacher) and my kiddos were home for the Thanksgiving break. But I was able to make one adorable card using a Newton’s Nook Designs’ stamp inspired by the Inky Paws challenge #60.

First, I stamped all of the images onto a piece of Neenah Solar white 80 lb. cardstock using Memento Tuxedo black dye ink. Next, I used my ScanNCut 2 to cut out all of the images. I am still learning how to properly calibrate my machine so that it cuts an either even white border around the image or right on the stamped line of the image. And last, I used my Copic Markers to color all of the images with the following combinations:

Sled: Y35, Y38 and E55 and E44, E47, and E79
Newton (Cat): C3, C5 and R20
Dog: 0, C1, C3
Christmas Hat: 0, C1, R29 and R59
Presents: R29 and R39, YG13 and YG6, B2 and B5
Trees: G05 and G28

Newton’s Nook Designs Christmas Delivery stamp set colored with Copic Markers and Distress ink backgrounds handmade Christmas card.

To create the background, I used a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and did some ink blending using Distress inks in chipped sapphire and peacock feathers, which are my favorite color combination to create a nighttime sky. Using MFT’s Snowfall stencil and Nuvo glimmer paste, I added some glittered snow to mimic the falling snow on the background panel.
To complete this card, I added the black frame around the edge of the card, the sentiment embossed with a silver embossing powder and a silver bottom layer for a little sparkle. As a final touch I took a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter brush pen and bedazzled all of the components of my card. It’s a Christmas card and it HAS to sparkle.
