Action Wobble Card | Whimsy Stamps Halloweeds

Hey crafty friends! I’m on the Whimsy Stamps YouTube Channel and it’s beginning to look a lot like Halloween. Last week, the new Whimsy release went live and it featured several new Halloween themed stamps and dies. For my card today, I created an action wobble card featuring the newly released Halloweeds Stamp set.

Whimsy Stamps Halloweeds

To begin my cards, I stamped the image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. cardstock with Memento Tuxedo ink and used my Copic Markers to color the image in, then I used my ScanNCut to cut the image out.

Copic Color Combination

Pink Skull: RV69, RV29, RV14, RV13, RV10
Eyeball: G17, G05, YG06, YG00
Jack O’Lantern: R59, YR27, YR07, YR18, YR15, Y04
Blue Skull: B06, B04, B02, B01, B000
Leaves: G29, G05, YG06, YG00
Candy Corn: YR07, YR15, Y38
Small Flower: B69, B63
Glass: C3, C1, C0, B02, B01, B000

Whimsy Stamps Halloweeds

Next, I created the spooky background for the main image by inking up a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock using Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink.

I created a stencil by die cutting a piece of laminated cardstock then die cutting it with the Edger Grass Cloud die.

Using the handmade stencil, I created the clouds with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink across the entire panel.

Whimsy Stamps Halloweeds

To finish the card off, I added the Action Wobble mechanism to the image, added the sentiment and adhered the panel to a black matted card base.

I have a video on the Whimsy Stamps YouTube Channel where I share how I created the background, colored the image, and added the wobble mechanism.

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero July 2020 Card Ideas | 5 Cards

Hello everyone, Today I’m excited to share the five cards I made using the Hero Arts July 2020 My Monthly Hero Card Kit. This kit is still available and if you like the Atlantis, underwater theme then this kit is definitely for you.

Hero-Arts-My-Monthly-Hero-July-2020

For my first card, I used the contents of the main kit and created a somewhat monochromatic look to this card. I stamped the layering stamps using Blue Hawaii Reactive ink from the kit, VersaFine Onyx Black ink then clear embossed it, and finally the last layer I stamped with VersaMark Embossing ink and added clear embossing powder to finish.

The background panel was ink blended with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink and faded out towards the top. And finally, I adhered all of the images to the card front and finished this card by adhering the entire panel to an A2 sized top folding white card base.

Hero-Arts-My-Monthly-Hero-July-2020

For the second card, I made a shaker card using an oval die from the Hero Arts Oval Infinity Die set and adhered it to a bright ink blended background panel. I used the reactive inks for this panel and the Fancy Edge die from the main kit.

Hero-Arts-My-Monthly-Hero-July-2020

Since I have been on this slimline card front kick lately, it was only fitting to make at least one slimline card using this kit. I began by die cutting a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock with the Trinity Stamps’ Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Window Dies and ink blended the panel followed by ink smooshing several more shades of Distress Oxide inks.

I really wanted a subtle background and muted tones for this card, so I reached for Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink to layer the background stamp. I added black VersaFine ink for the second layer and used the Coral Embossing Powder from the kit for the third layer of the stamp.

To finish this card, I stamped the silhouette of the fish image from the main kit, three times, added glossy accents to the images, and added a few of the clear drops by Studio Katia.

Hero-Arts-My-Monthly-Hero-July-2020

This happens to be my favorite card because of the ink blended panel. I did use Distress Ink for this panel for a more vibrant look. I die cut the panel with the Underwater Pillar Window die and added the jellyfish image from the Need A Hand stamp, which are both add-on items.

Hero-Arts-My-Monthly-Hero-July-2020

And finally, on card number five, I used several of the other images including that adorable octopus from the Need a Hand Stamp set and added the Waves and Clouds background cling stamp over an ink blended panel.

Copic Coloring Combination

Octopus: V09, V06, V04, V01, V000
Seahorse: YR18, Y35, Y11
Seagrass: G28, YG17, YG06, YG03, YG00

I’ve linked the video of these cards, where I share the process tutorial on my YouTube Channel. Let me know which is your favorite from the cards I made.

Ink Swiping Backgrounds | Whimsy Stamps Birthday Gnomes

Hey crafty friends! I’m on the Whimsy Stamps YouTube Channel sharing two cards featuring the newly released Gnome Birthday Stamp Set.

Whimsy Stamps Gnome Birthday

Can I just say how much I adore gnomes, and this set features three gnomes with (wait for it……) CAKE! I am definitely a cake girl and this set is becoming my favorite! Check out the post here, where I share two more cards featuring this stamp set.

For these two cards, I created the background using a simple and quick ink swiping technique. This is a fun technique for creating colorful backgrounds, which is right up my alley.

Whimsy Stamps Gnome Birthday

To begin my cards, I took a piece of glossy cardstock cut down to an A2 sized panel and a mini ink pad then swiped across from one side to the other.

I created several backgrounds, combining similar and different colors to see which I liked better. I did choose to create cards from the two of the graded ombre backgrounds, but I will save the other backgrounds for another time. Using the Card Builder Windows Die Set, I die cut the panels down to 4 by 5 1/4.”

Whimsy Stamps Gnome Birthday

Next, I inked up the Galaxy Galore Background Stamp with white pigment ink and stamped it onto my panels. Ideally, I would have used a solvent-based ink to stamp onto glossy cardstock, but I did not have any in my stash. Because pigment ink sits on top of the cardstock, it took some time for the pigment ink to dry before I was able to use it.

Whimsy Stamps Gnome Birthday

For the images, I stamped the Gnome Birthday images onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo ink and colored them in with Copic Markers.

Copic Markers Combination

Green Gnome: G99, YG63, G21, YG11
Beard: N3, N1, N0, Blender
Yellow Gnome:  Y38, Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11
Beard: E77, E74, E71, E70
Skin: E04, E13, E11, E00
Shoes: N7, N5, N3
Present: N7, N5, N3, White Gel Pen
Bow: R89, R85, R83, R81

Whimsy Stamps Gnome Birthday

To finish the cards, I created a skinny rectangle frame, clear embossed the stamped sentiments, and used the Quick Strips Die Set to die cut the sentiments.

I have a video on the Whimsy Stamps YouTube Channel where I share how I created the backgrounds and colored in the images to create these cards.

Whimsy Stamps August 1st 2020  Mini Release

Good morning crafty friends! There’s a new mini-release from the Whimsy Stamps today, and I have created several cards featuring some of the new items.

Whimsy Stamps Polka Dot Pals Delia

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I love to create scene cards. So when I saw the Polka Dot Pals Delia Stamp, I knew that this was going to be a scene card.

To begin my first card, I stamped out the images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in the images with Copic Markers, then used my Scan and Cut to cut the images out.

Copic Markers Combination

Skin: E04, E13, E11, E00, E000, R20, R30
Hair: E18, E15, E13, E11
Blue: B18, B16, B14, B12
Socks: C3, C1, C0
Shoes: C7, C5, C3
School: R39, R29, R27, R24, R22
Door/Steps: N7, N5, N3
Yellow: Y17, Y13, Y11
Green: YG67, YG17, YG06, YG01

Next, I made the sky background, by ink blending an A2 sized Bristol Smooth cardstock panel with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and I made the grass panel by die cutting a panel with the Grass and Cloud Edger Die then ink blending with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink.

To finish this card, I added a couple of clouds, arranged the images with foam adhesive, and stamped out the sentiment.

Whimsy Stamps Slimline Birthday Scallop Die

For the second card, I used a stars pattern paper from the Birthday Celebration Paper Pack and added a black frame using the Slimline Birthday Scallop Die.

I colored three candle die-cuts with Copic Markers, added a stripe pattern using a white gel pen, and finished the card with a simple birthday sentiment.

Whimsy Stamps Birthday Gnome

For the last two cards (my favorite, by the way) I used two of the images from the Gnome Birthday Stamp set.

I created the background by simple masking technique using a full sheet label and nesting dies to die cut the shapes. This is a great way to stretch your dies and use them a little differently. I ink blended the rectangle background using Distress Inks in Seedless Preserve, Wilted Violet, Candied Apple, and Wild Honey then added the Brick Pattern Stencil and ink blended the same colors on top.

Whimsy Stamps Birthday Gnome

Using a circle die to create a circle mask over an A2 sized panel, I ink blended Worn Lipstick, Victorian Velvet and Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink. I added white pigment ink on top of the Sun Rays Stencil to finish the background.

For the images, I stamped, colored with Copic Markers and cut them out with my Scan N Cut.

Copic Marker Combinations

Yellow Gnome: Y38, Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11
Beard: E77, E74, E71, E70
Cake: RV69, RV66, RV63, E29, E27, E25, E23
Blue Gnome: B04, B02, B01, B00, B000, B0000
Beard: N3, N1, N0
Yellow: Y17, White Gel Pen
Cake: R85, R83, R81, RV00, E74, E71, E70
Shoes: N7, N5, N3

I finished the cards using a few embellishments, added the sentiments, and adhered the images with foam adhesive for dimension. This is as close to a CAS card as I ever get.

I hope you join us on the Whimsy Stamps to see all of the new crafty goodness released in this mini release. Thank you so much for taking some time to stop by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero March 2020 | Stop and Smell the Blossoms

Hey there, I have a fun scene card to share with you featuring the images from the March Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Card Kit.

Hero-Arts-My-Monthly-Hero-March-2020-Card-Kit

Sadly, the kit is sold out, but Hero Arts carries a variety of color layering images that would work for a card design like this one.

For today’s card, I stamped the tree onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock using Lawn Fawn Walnut Premium Dye ink and Hero Arts’ Cotton Candy Mid-Tone Shadow ink. In the second layer of the tree, I stamped with VersaMark Ink and embossed it
with Wow Pink Sorbet Embossing Glitter.

Hero-Arts-My-Monthly-Hero-March-2020-Card-Kit

To create the background, I ink blended a panel of smooth cardstock with Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink and inked the background over the stencil with VersaMark ink then added white embossing powder.

To finish the scene, I created the grassy hill using the die from the kit and inked with the Green Hills and Field Greens Mid-Tone Shadow inks, die-cut a piece of smooth cardstock using the new Cloud Sky Scene Dies and added the sentiment with black ink.

I had so much fun working with the Hero Arts Kit and creating this mini scene! As always, thank you so much for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

Stamp Kissing Technique | Whimsy Stamps Hippo Fun in the Sun

Hey there, crafty friends! I’m on the Whimsy Stamps YouTube Channel sharing a summery beach card featuring a fun stamp
kissing technique.

Whimsy Stamps Fun in the Sun

This is an oldie but a goodie technique, where you ink one stamp to another before stamping it to a piece of cardstock. This results
in two stamps “kissing” to create a new pattern.

Typically, the kissing technique involves a solid stamp and a stamp with fine details or patterns. Since I did not have a solid stamp, I
created one by die-cutting a piece of fun foam using the smallest circle die from the Pierced and Stitched Circles Die Set.

Next, I inked up the Cross-Stitched Hearts Background Rubber Cling Stamp with pigment ink (only because I move a little slowly)
then stamped my DIY stamp onto the pattern to transfer the ink and stamp it onto my panel.

And I’ll be honest with you, I loved the end result more than I thought I would have. I finished the background panel by ink blending
Distress Oxide ink in Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed and trimming the panel down to 4 ¼ by 5 1/2  with a  stitched rectangle die.

Whimsy Stamps Fun in the Sun

For the images, I stamped the Hippo Fun in the Sun Clear Stamps onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo ink and colored them in with Copic Markers.

Copic Markers Combination

Hippo: N7, N5, N3, N1, N0
Bathing Suit/Hair Bow: RV19, RV66, RV63
Eyes: B00, B000, B0000
Dog: E47, E44, E43, E42, E41
Bucket: BG49, BG45, BG11, BG10
Sand: E35, E33, E31, E30  Texture E39, E37, E29
Palm Trees: YG67, YG17, YG06, YG01, E29, E25, E23, E30

Whimsy Stamps Fun in the Sun

To create the background scene, I used the Build-an-Island Die Set and Kinetic Straight Waves Die Set then attached the images with
foam adhesive and finished the card by adhering it to an A2 sized top folding card base.

Follow the link to the Whimsy Stamps YouTube Channel where I share how I created the background and colored in the images to create this fun and summery beach scene card.

Craft Collabs Christmas in July Giveaway Hop | Pretty Pink Posh Poinsettias Stamp

Good morning crafty friend, I am so excited to be taking part in a Christmas in July Video Hop, organized by Craft Collab and
sponsored by Dare2B Artzy.

Pretty Pink Posh Poinsettia

I created an elegant Christmas card using a Poinsettia Stamp by Pretty Pink Posh for the main elements in this card and added a
Watercolor Stripes Die by Altenew to complete this card.

Typically, I use my Copic Markers to color but for this image, I decided to do some block coloring with watercolors then stamp the
image on top.

Pretty Pink Posh Poinsettia

I used plenty of gold embossing powder to convey the most joyful time of the year in this card, which combined with the red
Poinsettia evokes a wonderful holiday or wintery feelings.

I added a simple sentiment to the center of the card, that I white heat embossed onto black cardstock and die cut with a sentiment strip.

This video is part of a video hop, sponsored Dare2B Artzy, who is generously offering a $20 gift certificate to one lucky commentator.

Collected Crafty Collabs July Hop | Lawn Fawn Happy Trails and Spring Fling Pattern Paper

Hi crafty friends, I’m so excited to participate in the Collected Crafty Collab for the month of July. Each month, a handful of my crafty
friends get together to create a blog hop and create some amazing projects using supplies we’ve collected that are due for a little love.

Lawn Fawn Happy Trails

Each month, the hop is inspired by a different theme and an optional supply and for the month of July, the theme is Outdoors with
optional pattern paper.

This was a perfect opportunity to dig into my stash of pattern paper and incorporate the optional supply in my card, along with an
older Lawn Fawn stamp that has NEVER BEEN USED!

I decided to create an interactive card by using a slider die to die cut a channel to move my little card and trailer down the hill-y road.

Lawn Fawn Happy Trails

After stamping all of the images with Memento Tuxedo ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and I colored them in
with Copic markers.

Copic Markers Combination

Red Cad/Half Camper: R39, R29, R27, R24, R22
Gray Half of the camper: N5, N3, N1, N0
Glass: B01, B000
Road: N9, N7, N5, N3
Trees: YG67, YG17, YG06, YG01

For the background, I used pattern paper from the Lawn Fawn Spring Fling Petite Paper Pad and finished the scene with a die-cut of
the sun from Spring Showers die set.

Lawn Fawn Happy Trails

? Next up on the Collected Crafty Collabs hop is the lovely Anna Mahtani! Hop along and be inspired by all of the wonderful and talented participants in this hop.

Graded Ombré Watercolor Background | Whimsy Stamps Giraffe Momma and Baby

Good morning everyone, today is a mini release day over on Whimsy Stamps with several new fun and quirky stamps and dies. I may a fun slimline card featuring the newly released Giraffe Momma and Baby on a graded ombre watercolor background.

Whimsy Stamps Giraffe Momma and Baby

To begin my card, I cut a piece of watercolor paper and created an easy graded ombre watercolor background inspired by a brightly vivid sunset.

I used my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors and created a wash of several shades blending one into another to create a dramatic background for the Giraffe Momma and Baby.

Once I had the color intensity in the background, I set the panel to air dry and began working on coloring the images.

Whimsy Stamps Giraffe Momma and Baby

Copic Markers Combination

Body: E55, Y26, Y32, Y23, E50
Spots Momma: E39, E37, E35, E33
Spots Baby: E35, E33, E31, E30
Ossicones (Horns) E59, E57, E55
Tail: E59, E55
Hooves: E59, E57, E55
Ears: R20, R30

I created a frame using a Slimline Postage Die that complemented the brightness of the background and created a striking contrast.

To complete this card, I attached the images with foam adhesive and added a sentiment that was embossed with white embossing powder.
