Hello everyone,
Today I am sharing several techniques for the four cards I made using the contents of Simon Says Stamp August 2018 Card Kit.
[easy-image-collage id=1216]
The first card I made incorporates a single image stamp with a patterned paper (happens to be my favorite) from the kit. I layered the patterned paper with a piece of craft cardstock in between to create a very vintage inspired look to this card. The stamped and colored image combined with a simple sentiment on top a piece of vellum completes this card.
The focus on the second card was a single layer card technique really to showcase the sentiment. I absolutely love the font of that sentiment. The card itself sort of has a watercolor picturesque feel with an inlay design of the card panel.
The third card I made incorporates a white heat embossed background of the Modern Rose Blooms stamp with a layer of Tattered Rose Distress Ink. The floral stamp with a sentiment are stamped and white heat embossed onto a piece of vellum which was fussy cut around the edge. Once I layered the focal point panel on top of the ink blended background, I felt as though it was blending in to the background. I never realized that you can color vellum. I only tried using my Copic Markers to go over the vellum but in the future I will use different mediums and see how it results.
For the fourth card and my favorite, I white heat embossed the background with the Modern Rose Blooms stamp this time onto a piece of watercolor cardstock. I wanted to create a rainbow card for some time and this was the perfect opportunity. Using my Prima Marketing Watercolors, I added all of the colors of the rainbow and finished the card off with a simple sentiment embossed onto a piece of black cardstock. I really wanted the focus to be on the rainbow background and I think I achieved that.
I had a lot of fun creating cards from this kit, I only wish I had more time to create but alas the day of a mom is never done and that’s all for me today! Check out the video link below to see how I created these cards. As always thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
