Good morning crafty friends, I’m excited to share an adorable birthday card featuring some products from the new Heffy
Doodle release. My card features the adorable monkeys from Chimply the Best and the Fancy Foliage stencils on an
ink blended background with Perfect Pearls.
I began by ink blending an A2 sized panel with Distress Ink in Crushed Olive, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles randomly
using the blender brushes. Once I had the entire panel covered, I secured the Fancy Foliage stencil to the panel and
applied the Perfect Medium ink, making sure to add plenty for the powder to stick.
Now the fun part of using this medium, is applying the Perfect Pearls powder with a small brush across the entire panel. I
then took a clean brush and brushed excess powder off to reveal a very shiny and shimmery stenciled design background.
While the background was drying, I stamped all of the images with Memento Tuxedo ink onto a piece of Neenah
Solar White 80lb cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers.
Copic Markers Combination
Monkey bodies: E31, E29, E27, E25, E23
Monkey faces: E00, E11, E21, E04, R22, R20
Tree branches: E23, E25, E27, E29
Leaves: YG00, YG13, YG07
Bananas: Y19, Y15, Y11, Y26
Peeled banana: Y02, Y21
Once the background was dry, I spritzed some water into the air and allowed the mist to hit the panel in order for
the Perfect Pearls to set. And then I began adhering all of the images and the sentiment strip which I stamped and
white heat embossed on a piece of black cardstock.
I have a video tutorial where I share how I created this card and how I colored the images with Copic Markers. Watch the video below or follow the link to my YouTube Channel!
