Good morning crafty friends! Nothing says “Spring” more than bright colors and baby chicks. After the winter or more like cold days we’ve had, I am ready for warmer days. With this birthday card, I kept it very bright and added the Birthday Chicks by MFT Stamps.
I stamped all of the images in the stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink and colored them in with Copic Markers.
Copic Marker Combination
Chicks: Y38, Y18, Y15, Y13, Y11
Beak: YR07
Cupcake Icing: RV17, RV55, RV52, RV00
Cake: YR24, YR23, YR21
Wrapper: E59, E57, E35, E31
Balloons: RV17, RV55, RV52, RV00
Teal: BG49, BG45, BG53
Purple: V09, V05, V01
Blue: B29, B24, B21
Green: YG17, YG05, YG01
Flame: YR16, Y13
For the background, I ink blended a teal piece of cardstock with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide in the center and added a little bit of Peacock Feathers at the edge of the panel. To give the background more texture, I added white and teal splatters to the panel.
Next, I die-cut a piece of green cardstock and ink blended the top of the hills with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. Again, I added white and green splatters for some texture.
Once the panels were dry, I used a stitched slimline rectangle die to die cut the entire panel. Then, I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Black Onyx ink, my favorite for sentiment stamping. And lastly, I added all of the images using glue dots or liquid adhesive.
I was inspired by the MFT Slimline challenge to create this card. I hope you enjoy this card and are inspired to participate, as always thank you so much for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
