Hero Arts My Monthly Hero | June 2019 Card Kit | Part One | 4 Cards

Hello everyone,

I’m so excited to share the four cards I made using the Hero Arts June 2019 Card Kit. It’s been a little while since I got the Hero Arts Card Kit but when I saw this theme, I had to get it and make some cards. This is part one with four cards that I made, all featuring water-colored backgrounds.

For the first card, I created a night-time sky background using a rich purple and black watercolor ink. This was the perfect backdrop for the Elephant from the main kit with his friend the Monkey.

For the second card, I created a day-time sky background, this time using only one shade of blue. I wanted to create an ombre wash of color with this card, so I worked on creating a gradient of the same shade of blue.

For this card, I wanted to beautiful jungle sunset with rich yellow, orange and reds. I think that the Cheetah was a perfect addition to this background with a few jungle vines for a little interest.

And finally, for the last card, I did a little ink smooshing to create a very bright background. Again, using the Gansai Tambi Watercolors, I added several shades of blue to a scrap piece of acetate and smooshed it onto a piece of watercolor cardstock. For the border, I used the add-on Jungle Frame Fancy Die. After I die cut it, I added several shades of green to color in the border.
