Gerda Steiner Designs Christmas Kitten | Christmas in July Video Hop

Good morning everyone, and welcome to the Christmas in July Video Hop. This is a fun hop meant to inspire you with Christmas cards or other handmade projects and get you motivated to make a Christmas project or two along the way.

For my sweet card today, I used the adorable kittens from the Gerda Steiner Designs Kitten Stamp set and several Lawn Fawn products to create a playful Christmas scene.

Gerda Steiner Designs Christmas Kitten

I decided to color these images with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, which I hardly ever reach for anymore.  I stamped the images onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink then heat set the images with clear embossing powder.

Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers Combination

Gray Cat: 090 Gray, 091 Light Gray, 026 Light Pink, 036 Light Blue
Brown Cat: 072 Beige, 071 Flesh Color, 026 Light Pink, 036 Light Blue
Light Gray Cat: 091 Light Gray, 097 Pale Gray, 026 Light Pink, 036 Light Blue
Tree Branch: 040 Green, 041 Light Green
Hat: 260 Deep Red, 029 Geranium Red
Ornaments: 260 Deep Red, 029 Geranium Red, 052 Bright Yellow

For the background, I blended Distress ink in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, and Chipped Sapphire then used the Lawn Fawn Snowfall Backdrop die to die cut the panel and create the snow effect.

To complete my scene, I die cut two panels from smooth white cardstock using Little Town Border die and Stitched Hillside Border die, then added Prisma Glitter to the top edge to mimic the sparkle of snow.

I attached my images with foam adhesive and finished my card with a sentiment that I white heat embossed on a piece of red cardstock.

I have a video tutorial of this card where I share how I created this card and how I colored the images with Zig Markers. Watch the video below or follow the link to my YouTube Channel!

Picket Fence Love of Coffee | Coffee Lovers Blog Hop | Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Good morning everyone, it’s the biggest coffee themed blog hop over on Coffee Lover’s Blog and I’m sharing another coffee
inspired card featuring a background coffee stamp by Picket Fence.

Picket Fence Love of Coffee

Using my Misti, I stamped out the large background stamp onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock using a tucked away,
way in the back of my ink drawer an old pigment ink that was in the perfect shade of brown. I added clear embossing powder
and heat set it with my heating tool and reached for my Zig Markers to color in the images. Since these are tiny images, I used
a single shade on each image and blended it out using a water brush pen.

Zig Marker Color Combination

031 Cobalt Blue
041 Light Green
021 Light Carmine
025 Pink
027 Dark Pink
230 Pale Rose
082 Purple
072 Beige

Picket Fence Love of Coffee

Once the background panel was completely dry, I used a large stitched rectangle die to cut it down to an A2 sized panel and
finished the card by white heat embossing the sentiment stirp then popping it up on foam squares and adding it across
the center of my panel.

Picket Fence Love of Coffee

This was an easy-peasy card to make that is full of vibrant color and can be quickly mass-produced if you need to.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

And that completes this adorable birthday card. As always thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

My Favorite Things Purr-fect Friends ~ Zig Clean Color ~ Valentines Day Card

Hey everyone,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and was able to enjoy spending the time with family and friends. I am enjoying my time off and spending it with family. I was able to sneak away into my craft cave and create a card inspired by current My Favorite Things’ Color Challenge # 83.

My Favorite Things Pur-fect Friends stamp set colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and ink smooshing background handmade Valentine card.

To create the background, I used a piece of watercolor paper and #82 Purple Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker to ink smoosh onto the paper. I cut the panel down to 4 by 5.25 using MFT’s Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die.
The images were stamped onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock using VersaFine ink in Onyx Black and colored using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

Color combinations I used

082 Purple
061 Light Brown
042 Turquoise Green

Originally the bird cage was stamped onto a piece of white paper, however, after cutting it out, I did not like the look. So onto plan B, I pulled out heat resistant acetate and stamped the bird cage image on it.

My Favorite Things Pur-fect Friends stamp set colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and ink smooshing background handmade Valentine card.

To put this card together, I used a piece of cream colored cardstock as the base of card, added the watercolor panel and adhered all of my pieces either using Ranger multi medium matte or foam adhesive for some dimension.

This is my entry card for the My Favorite Things’ Color Challenge # 83.

As always, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

Your Next Stamp Santa’s Helper ~ Zig Clean Color Real Brush ~ Christmas card

Hey everyone,

Moving right along on making Christmas cards, I made this one inspired by YNS Sketch and Color Challenge #77 using Santa’s Helpers stamp set from Your Next Stamp.

Your Next Stamp Santa’s Helpers stamp set colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and patterned papers handmade Christmas card.

I wanted to use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers for this card so I began by stamping all of the images onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx black ink. I also embossed the images using black embossing powder, so that I can have a nice dark outline.
Using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, I used the following color combinations:

Chimney: 024 Wine Red and 260 Deep Red for shadows
Santa suit: 024 Wine Red and 260 Deep Red for shadows
Santa boots and belt: 095 Dark Gray and 010 Black for shadows
Santa hats: 024 Wine Red and 260 Deep Red for shadows
Penguins: 095 Dark Gray and 010 Black for shadows
Penguins beaks and feet: 070 Orange
Penguin bellies: 091 Light Gray
Snow: 091 Light Gray and 099  Cool Gray 1

Your Next Stamp Santa’s Helpers stamp set colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and patterned papers handmade Christmas card.

To put this card together, I fussy cut the images out and adhered them onto an A2 sized card base using the sketch template and patterned paper from Recollections called Christmas Noel paper pad. I generally leave my cards blank on the inside, however, the sentiment in the stamp set was just begging to be added and since I had an extra penguin image I added the little guy inside to complete my card.

Your Next Stamp Huggles Christmas Star ~ Zig Clean Color Real Brush ~ Christmas Card

Hey everyone,

It’s been a hectic two weeks around here, hence the lack of posts and participation in the card challenges that I love so much.
But I’m finally finished with the project that took me away from my craft time and now I can get back in to my happy place to create some cards.
This card was inspired by Your Next Stamps’ Sketch or Color Challenge # 76. This week I choose to do the color challenge with this one layer card.

Your Next Stamp Huggles Christmas Star colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Distress ink background handmade Christmas card.

I did not intentionally set out to make a one layer card (originally, I wanted to use an evergreen trees die in the background) but the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry, so they say!
I started by stamping the images onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock using Versafine Onyx black ink and masking it using Molotow art masking liquid.
I have to say that I was not a 100% happy with this product when I removed it as it left some of the blue residue onto the image. Perhaps it’s a user error and I will try another time before I make up my mind.
I wanted to create a wintery scene background and used my favorite distress inks for the night time sky and added a spritz or two of the Shimmer Sparkle spritz for an all over sparkle. I finished the background with splatter of diluted white paint to mimic snow.
I used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color my images and very little water as I had to cover up some of the blue residue left by the masking pen.

Colors I used:
Bear: 068 Deep Brown, 065 Mid Brown and 072 Beige
Scarf: 029 Geranium Red and 022 Carmine Red
Gingerbread man: 072 Beige
Shoes/bow 032 Persian Blue
Hat: 022 Carmine Red
Star: 051 Lemon Yellow

Your Next Stamp Huggles Christmas Star colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Distress ink background handmade Christmas card.

To put this card together, I cut the main panel using a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to a white A2 sized card base.
The sentiment I used is from the same stamp set and I die cut it with a banner die after stamping it with Versafine Onyx black ink. And that will complete this simple yet I think stunning Christmas card!
I followed the Color Challenge on this card and hope that I made a card that inspired you.

As always thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

Lawn Fawn Hippo Birdie ~ Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 11 ~ Zig Clean Color Markers

Hey everyone,

I’m finishing the week off with this adorable card for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 11 – Cards for kids. I created this card to give to a friends’ child for an upcoming birthday and thought it was very fitting for this challenge entry.

Lawn Fawn Year Four Hippo and Birdie stamp colored with Zig Clean Color Real Waterbrush pens and patterned paper handmade card.

I stamped the images from Lawn Fawn Year Four onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored all of the images using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

Color combinations I used:
Hippo: 075 Brick Beige
Birdie: 050 Yellow and 070 Orange
Balloons: 202 Peach Pink and 042 Turquoise Green

Lawn Fawn Year Four Hippo and Birdie stamp colored with Zig Clean Color Real Waterbrush pens and patterned paper handmade card.

I have been loving shaker cards lately and I wanted to create a shaker card for this challenge. To start, I die cut a piece of pink cardstock using Lawn Fawns Stitched Circle Frame dies and a piece of patterned paper from DCWV Simple Joy using Lawn Fawns’ Large Stitched Rectangle Stackable dies.

Lawn Fawn Year Four Hippo and Birdie stamp colored with Zig Clean Color Real Waterbrush pens and patterned paper handmade card.

To complete this card, I adhered all of the patterned paper pieces, added some shaker pieces and added all of the images with foam squares to the top layer for some added dimension.

I just adore the end result of this card and I’m sure it will be just as loved by the recipient! As always, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

To put this card together, I stamped a diagonal stripe on one edge using Hero Arts’ Deep Ocean hybrid ink. I cut a piece of adorable red with white stars patterned paper from Echo Park Birthday Wishes paper pad, and adhered it to an A2 top folding card base. Lawn Fawn Aloha ~ Distress Ink backgrounds ~ Zig Clean Color Markers

Hey everyone,

For the end of the week, I thought I’d have a go at participating in a challenge from Lawn Fawn over on their challenge blog Lawnfawnatics.com
For this week, the challenge was to add watercolor to our projects. Here is my take on the challenge number 7.

Lawn Fawn Aloha stamp colored with Zig Clean Color and Distress Inked background handmade card.

I started by taking a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock cut down to 4” x 5.5” and die cut a circle in the front. My sweet little girl helped me to cover the cardstock with color splashes using Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon and Wild Honey.
To create the sunset, I used a piece of watercolor paper and using the same Distress Ink colors I created a watercolor sunset background. The technique I used, I first saw over on Kristina Werner’s blog, where you add a wash of color in a sweeping motion across the desired section. After adding all of the color choices, and drying it, I then added little swirly marks of each color and a lot of water on the brush to each color, and dried it again. I’m really happy with the end result.
Using Lawn Fawn’s Aloha stamp and die set, I stamped the two pineapples onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock and Versafine Onyx black pigment ink. I colored the images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers in 044 deep green for the leaves, and 050 yellow and 052 bright yellow for the pineapples.

Lawn Fawn Aloha stamp colored with Zig Clean Color and Distress Inked background handmade card.

To put the card together, I took a piece of bright pink A2 sized card base and added the watercolor sunset, and top cardstock. I put the pineapples on a piece of foam tape for some dimension and added the sunglasses with a little shimmer using Spectrum Noir Sparkle glitter overlay pen. To finish the card, I added the sentiment from the same stamp set by heat embossing it with white embossing powder onto a piece of black cardstock.
This little baby will be entered into the challenge so here’s my fingers crossed for a win!

Thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
