Simon Says Stamp August 2018 Card Kit | 4 cards from 1 kit

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing several techniques for the four cards I made using the contents of Simon Says Stamp August 2018 Card Kit.

The first card I made incorporates a single image stamp with a patterned paper (happens to be my favorite) from the kit. I layered the patterned paper with a piece of craft cardstock in between to create a very vintage inspired look to this card. The stamped and colored image combined with a simple sentiment on top a piece of vellum completes this card.

The focus on the second card was a single layer card technique really to showcase the sentiment. I absolutely love the font of that sentiment. The card itself sort of has a watercolor picturesque feel with an inlay design of the card panel.

The third card I made incorporates a white heat embossed background of the Modern Rose Blooms stamp with a layer of Tattered Rose Distress Ink. The floral stamp with a sentiment are stamped and white heat embossed onto a piece of vellum which was fussy cut around the edge. Once I layered the focal point panel on top of the ink blended background, I felt as though it was blending in to the background. I never realized that you can color vellum. I only tried using my Copic Markers to go over the vellum but in the future I will use different mediums and see how it results.

For the fourth card and my favorite, I white heat embossed the background with the Modern Rose Blooms stamp this time onto a piece of watercolor cardstock. I wanted to create a rainbow card for some time and this was the perfect opportunity. Using my Prima Marketing Watercolors, I added all of the colors of the rainbow and finished the card off with a simple sentiment embossed onto a piece of black cardstock. I really wanted the focus to be on the rainbow background and I think I achieved that.

I had a lot of fun creating cards from this kit, I only wish I had more time to create but alas the day of a mom is never done and that’s all for me today! The Greeting Farm American Heroes ~ One Layer Card ~ Copic Markers ~ Veterans Day card

Hey everyone,

I made a one layer veterans inspired card using two stamps set from The Greeting Farm, perfect for thanking the veterans or those still serving in honor of Veteran’s Day that we celebrated this past Saturday! This particular card was inspired by The Greeting Farm’s November Farm Fresh Challenge – 1 layer card.

The Greeting Farm American Heroes and Main Street stamp sets colored with Copic Markers and Distress ink backgrounds handmade Veterans Day card.

To create a one layer card that looks 3-dimensional, it’s important to stamp the images at different levels so that it looks as if the items in the front are larger than the items in the back hence the 3-dimensional perspective. This is usually achieved by stamping images, masking the forefront images and then stamping the images behind in the background.

I am also super excited that I was able to film the process video for this card and will be posting it to my You Tube Channel for those that want to see it here!

I’m very proud of the end result of this card as this is one of my first few attempts at a single layer card, especially with this much detail. This card is for a special veteran that served in the Air force during the Vietnam War, and we want him to know that we are very thankful for his service and his sacrifice for our country. As always, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
