Spring + Summer 2018 Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop | Craftin’ Desert Diva Cactus Coffee | Copic markers

Hello everyone,

I have one last card that I made for the Spring+Summer 2018 Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop featuring a Craftin’ Desert Diva Digi Stamp of this adorable cactus with a coffee cut!

Craftin Desert Diva Cactus Coffee Digital stamp Copic colored and patterned paper Coffee card.

I printed my image onto Neenah Solar white 80lb. cardstock with a laser printer and colored my images using Copic markers.

Color combination I used:

Cactus: YG07, YG05, YG03 and YG01
Flower and cup: Y35 and Y32
Pot: RV34, RV11 and RV10

Craftin Desert Diva Cactus Coffee Digital stamp Copic colored and patterned paper Coffee card.

I used two patterned papers from two different collections for the base of the card and rectangle for the cactus to sit on.

I decided to create my own sentiment based on the discussion I had with my kids earlier about needs vs. wants. Any true coffee drinker knows that COFFEE is a NEED!

I kept this card pretty simple because of the busyness of the patterned paper and of course the star of the card, the little adorable cactus.

That’s all for me today, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

P.S. I edit all my projects using Pic Monkey, which allows me to crop my images, add effects, adjust exposures, sharpen colors, minor touch up and add my watermark. Click here for more information

Spring + Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop | Sweet Stamp Shop Mugging | Copic Coloring

Hello everyone,

Today I’m playing along with the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog hop! One of the biggest blog hops and it’s all related to COFFEE!

Sweet Stamp Shop Mugging stamp colored with Copic markers and patterned paper sketch background handmade card.

For my second card and second entry, I used a stamp from Sweet Stamp Shop of a coffee cup and the sentiment that it absolutely 100% true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stamped my image onto white smooth cardstock using Memento Tuxedo dye ink and Copic colored the cup. I also decided that my cup is full and drew in the line to represent coffee.

Copic color combination

Cup RV69, RV66 and RV63
Coffee E27 and E25
Ground C3, C1 and 0

Once the coloring was done, it was time to work on the rest of the card. I wanted this card to have a very summery look so I picked a few colors and patterns that to me represents a summer feel.

I dug through my notebook of card sketches for inspiration and decided on this particular one for no other reason than it appealed to me at the time.  To complete the card, I added just a few enamel dots on the background for interest.

All the information on how to participate is linked above and here!

That’s all for me today, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

Gerda Steiner Designs Panda in Love~Copic Colored~Valentine’s Day handmade card

Hey everyone,

Valentine’s Day is only a little more two weeks away and I’m continuing to create some more fun and adorable Valentine’s Day cards. For this card, I used the January Challenge Image from Gerda Steiner Designs.

Gerda Steiner Designs Panda in Love digital stamp colored with Copic Markers and patterned paper background Valentine’s Day handmade card.

This adorable panda sitting in a pile of hearts is beyond cute and I love seeing the different designs for one image.
To start, I printed my image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock using a laser jet printer. With my ScanNCut 2, I cut the image with a slight white border and somehow lost a couple hearts in the process but it was no big deal.
I colored my image using Copic markers with the following combination:

Panda: (Black) W9, W7, W5 White W1, W2, 0, R21, R20
Hearts: R59, R39, R29 with a touch of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen

Gerda Steiner Designs Panda in Love digital stamp colored with Copic Markers and patterned paper background Valentine’s Day handmade card.

One of my favorite color combinations to use is teal with red or pink and I had the perfect teal Valentine’s Day paper in mind. From Crate Paper Main Squeeze collection, I had a 12×12 paper called Just Love, which I die cut using Avery Elle Postage Stamp die and added my focal point image. Working on the card base, I added a piece of striped red and white paper from My Favorite Things’ Hearts & Stripes Paper pack collection to the card base. I added the focal point panel slightly skewed with some fun foam for dimension and added a sentiment using a new to me stamp line from Cardz TV called Beary Sweet. As a final touch, I adhered three hearts to finish this card.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

Your Next Stamp Holiday Buddies ~ Copic Colored ~ Christmas Card

Hey everyone,

I still have so many Christmas cards to make and so little time left before I have to send them out. This week I made another Christmas card using very traditional Christmas colors to play along with YNS Sketch and Color challenge # 78.

Your Next Stamp Holiday Buddies colored with Copic Markers and Christmas patterned paper background handmade Christmas card.

I chose to create a card based on the sketch this week and use some very Christmas-y patterned papers for the card base, which I layered according to the sketch. For the focal layer, I used a stitched oval die to cut a piece of white cardstock and add my components on top.

The image of the dog is from Your Next Stamps’ Holiday buddies, at least I think it’s a dog but it could be a sheep, although he is one funky colored sheep if he is a sheep. The layer of trees is cut using Your Next Stamps’ Evergreen tree border die and sparkle green cardstock.

I colored the “dog” using Copic Markers with the following color combinations:

Bird: W5, W7, YR12 and YR15
Bird’s hat: YG03, YG05, R29 and R39
Dog: E11, E13 and E25
   belly: 0, C1
Dog’s hat: R29, R39, 0 and C1

Your Next Stamp Holiday Buddies colored with Copic Markers and Christmas patterned paper background handmade Christmas card.

I adhered all of the components to an A2 sized card base and added my sentiment from the stamp set using a tinsel embossing powder in red. And that will complete another Christmas card!!! YAY!!!

With this card, I am also participating in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Anything goes!

Lawn Fawn Elphie Selfie ~ Copic Colored ~ Happy Dance card

Hey everyone,

I just adore this little Elphie card I made and will be entering it into the Lawn Fawnatics Color Inspiration Board Challenge #9!

Lawn Fawn Elphie Selfie colored with Copic Markers, Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow patterned paper and Lawn Fawn inks handmade card.

To create this card, I started by stamping the solid hearts from Lawn Fawn’s Elphie Selfie stamp set with the different color inks inspired by the challenge colors onto a piece of white cardstock panel. Using Lawn Fawn’s Large Stitched Rectangle Stackable dies, I cut the panel down using the second largest die.
I also stamped Elphie with Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink onto a piece of Spectrum Noir paper and colored her in using my Copic markers.

Colors I used: C1, C3 and C5

I’m still new to Copic markers and I’m still learning about the blending, shadow and color combinations but I’m practicing and hopefully it will show in my cards.

Lawn Fawn Elphie Selfie colored with Copic Markers, Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow patterned paper and Lawn Fawn inks handmade card.

To put this card together, I reached into my beloved Lawn Fawn paper hoarding stash and pulled out this teal plaid paper for the background. I cut the panel down to 4.25” by 5.5” and adhered it to an A2 sized top folding card base. (Yikes, that was my last piece of plaid paper and after a minor panic attack, I placed my order for another pad!)
I added the hearts panel on top with fun foam for added dimension and added Elphie towards the bottom with foam tape.

Lawn Fawn Elphie Selfie colored with Copic Markers, Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow patterned paper and Lawn Fawn inks handmade card.
For the sentiment I used Lawn Fawn’s Happy Happy Happy stamp set, and after looking at little Elphie who looks like she’s dancing, I chose Happy Dance, which I stamped onto a piece of black card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

And that completes my very happy Elphie card for an entry into Lawn Fawnatics Color Inspiration Board Challenge #9!

Have a great weekend, and as always, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

Love from Lizi products showcase

Hey everyone,

I am finally able to sit down and write my post for a few cards I made using the Love from Lizi products. Love from Lizi is an online store in the U.K that sells card kits, mega-packs, mini-packs and other crafting products. She carries the most amazing patterned paper products, in my opinion that I’ve seen.  A few weeks ago I purchased several items and was so excited to start creating with these goodies!

I mostly choose to focus on the beautiful patterned paper and added very little embellishments. And I mostly focused on birthday cards because I needed a birthday card for my mom.

Love from Lizi Card kits, mega-packs and mini-packs crafting products for handmade card.

For this card, I used two patterned papers from the January card kit I previously purchased. The bottom wood grain paper is adhered directly to the base of an A2 size card, while the beautiful rose patterned paper is accented with stitched scallop border die from Lawn Fawn and adhered to a piece of fun foam for some added dimension. To finish this card, I die cut the sentiment from an add-on die and a butterfly from the Vintage Blooms mega-pack using copper mirror cardstock.

Love from Lizi Card kits, mega-packs and mini-packs crafting products for handmade card.

For card two, I used a card base from my stash because I specifically wanted a pearlized look to the card. Using a piece of patterned paper from the Vintage Blooms mega-pack, I cut the bottom of the paper using a check mark die from MFT stitched scallop basic edge set. The bird stamp, also from the Vintage Blooms mega-pack was stamped directly onto the base of the card using VersaMark and embossed with gold embossing powder. Tip to self for future, stamping onto a card with a pearlized finish is tricky. Heat embossing is not much better. I went through a few card bases before I was happy with the end result. I stamped a sentiment from the Soft Floral mini-pack and embossed it in gold to match the bird. To finish the card, I used a heart wood chip veneer, embossed it in gold and attached it as if it’s hanging from the sentiment.

My intent was to give my mom one of these two cards for her birthday BUT as I was finishing she stood looking over my shoulder and wanted to know what I was going to do with those cards.

Love from Lizi Card kits, mega-packs and mini-packs crafting products for handmade card.

So moving onto card three, I created this background paper by stamping a faded text background using Encore ultimate metallic gold ink. I did a little ink blending using Distress Ink Oxides in Worn Lipstick to add a touch of subtle color. Using a sticker from March card kit add-on, I added some foam squares for dimension before adding it to my card. To complete the card, I added a small butterfly sticker from the same sticker set. With this card, I felt that less is more and didn’t want to take away from the subtleness by adding any more embellishments.

Love from Lizi Card kits, mega-packs and mini-packs crafting products for handmade card.

And since I was on a roll, I made one more card. This time I used the butterfly stamp from Vintage Blooms mega-pack to create a background for my card by stamping it several times onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock and using a charcoal embossing powder. I did some ink blending again using Distress Ink Oxides in Worn Lipstick. To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set in Soft Floral mini-pack onto a piece of black cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder. I added a piece of foam tape to the back of the sentiment piece and adhered it to the card.

I wanted to mention that I was in no way sponsored to write this post or that I am not an affiliate of the shop but choose to showcase Love from Lizi products because I personally use them and I absolutely adore all of the products in her shop. More information can be found at lovefromlizi.com

I hope you enjoyed the cards I made, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
