Doodlebug Simply Spring Collection | 15 Cards from 1 Collection

Hello everyone,

In today’s video and blog I’m sharing the 15 cards I made using the Doodlebug Simply Spring Collection. Doodlebug collections are perfect for creating quick and easy cards and what I love most about using a collection is that all of the components coordinate perfectly, allowing you to create a cohesive group of cards.

I did bring in several pieces of cardstock that I thought coordinated really well but in all honesty, I had enough patterned paper from the paper pad to not need to bring in any additional cardstock.

I created two similarly designed cards at a time, each time only changing the elements or orientation.

I used several dies from my stash to help me cut a lot of the elements I used on these cards.

For the last three cards, I focused on using the smaller pieces of patterned paper that I had left over to show how you can incorporate all of the pieces left to really stretch out the supplies.

Scrapping For Less May 2019 Card Kit | Myths and Legends | 4 Cards from 1 Kit

Hello everyone,

I’m so excited to be a guest designer for this month’s kit for Scrapping For Less. Today, I’m sharing the four cards I made using the Flavor of the Month May Card Kit. This month’s kit is all about Myths and Legends.

I’ve been a long-time fan of the Scrapping For Less Card Kits because the value of their kits far supersedes their price and you always get enough of a variety within each collection but still within the theme.

Let’s get on to some crafty goodness with these wonderful creatures: Our Myths and Legends blog hop begins at the Scrapping for Less blog. There, you will find the complete lineup. AND…make sure you enter the Rafflecopter. You can find the new kit for May on the Subscription page as well as great photographs of the contents of the kit. Make sure to grab yours fast as it may sell out quickly! Thanks for joining us today!
Happy Crafting! P.S. for some fun facts on the elements and origins of the myths and legends of this month’s kit head to the Scrapping for Less blog for some little tidbits about our legendary elements.
The next person on the blog hop is listed at the end of the post.

Card 1 – Collection One – Sketch 1

For the first card, I colored the adorable Nessie from Kindred Stamps with Copic markers and added the image to the patterned paper with waves. The only thing left to do to complete this card was to add the sentiment and a few sequences from the collection.

Card 2 – Collection Two – Sketch 3

I simply adore this image of the Pegasus by Sunny Studio Stamps. I used the patterned paper from this collection and followed sketch three to create the background. After Copic coloring the image, I added it to a stenciled sky background to complete this card.

Card 3 – Collection Three – Sketch 2

The feel of this collection reminded me of garden fairies and I colored the images of the two fairies to reflect the softness of the patterned paper.  Next, I chose several pieces of patterned paper from this collection and added a little bit of the Sour Apple cardstock for contrast.

Dress: R85, R83, R81 Wings: YG03, G40

Card 4 – Collection Four – Sketch 4

And finally, for the last card which happens to be my favorite from the kit, I colored the adorable gnomes with Copic markers to reflect the bold patterned paper. I added a piece of vellum to the background to soften the brightness so that my little gnomes are still at the center of the card.

Scrapping For Less April 2019 Card Kit | Spring Critters | 4 Cards from 1 kit

Hello everyone, today I’m sharing the four cards I made using the Scrapping For Less: April Flavor of the Month Card Kit. This month’s kit was full of cute critters and spring themed papers and embellishments just in time for this gorgeous weather.

Card 1 – Collection One – Sketch 4

For my first card, I created a mini scene using Just Bee-cause stamp set by Sunny Studio Stamps. I used my Copic markers to color the images after I free-hand drew the tree branch. The patterned papers fit perfectly with the spring theme to complete this card.

For the second card, I used the gorgeous Journey of the Heart patterned papers by Gina K Designs and Let Things Grow stamp set by Pink Fresh Studios to create this elegant card.

Card 3 – Collection Three – Sketch 2

This happens to be my most favorite collection and card from this kit. I colored all of the images using my Copic markers and arranged them on top of some of the most adorable paper in this kit. To finish this card, I added glitter over all of the images.

Lawn Fawn Hedgehugs and Slide on Over Die | Hedgehog Hollow Video Hop

Hi everyone,

I’m so excited to be participating in the Hedgehog Hollow Hop, A Craft Collab’s event on YouTube. This is a video hop with many crafters creating projects with a hedgehog theme.

Did I mention that there are prizes??? Yep, there are two prizes sponsored by Alexandra Stapleton-Smith with the Hedgehog Hollow for two lucky commentators. All of the information on participating is linked in my video on my YouTube Channel (linked below !)

A spring inspired card created with Lawn Fawn Hedgehugs Stamp and Slide on Over Dies, colored with Copic markers and set against a mini forest scene.

For my card today, I used several products from Lawn Fawn but the main focus of this card is the slider mechanism as well as the adorable hedgehogs.

I started my card by stamping all of the images onto Neenah Solar White 80lb. cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and used my Copic markers to color all of the images in.

Next, I used the coordinating dies (if I had them) or my ScanNCut to cut out all of the images. I probably went a little overzealous on the number of images I stamped and colored, but I’d rather have a choice of too much than not enough.

A spring inspired card created with Lawn Fawn Hedgehugs Stamp and Slide on Over Dies, colored with Copic markers and set against a mini forest scene.

Copic Color Combination

Hedgehogs: E44, E43, E40, E29, E27, E25, E23, E93, R22
Bee: Y17, Y15, Y13, R22, B00, BG000, BG0000
Butterflies: (Purple) V17, V15, V12 (Teal) BG49, BG45, BG53
N5, N3, N1, N0, Blender
Ladybug: R27, R24, R22, C7, C5, C3
Birds: R22, R21, R20, YR18, YR15

For the background, I’ve used several pieces of patterned paper from the Spring Fling Collection paper by Lawn Fawn and die cuts to create a mini forest-scene.

And finally, to create the slider in the card, I used a die by Lawn Fawn that cuts out the perfect slider channel for a fun interactive element.  All there was left to do was to adhere the images, add a sentiment and a white frame around the entire card for a finished look.

Scrapping For Less: FOTM March 2019 Card Kit | Let’s Celebrate | 4 Cards from 1 Kit

Hello everyone,

Today I’m sharing the four cards I made using the Scrapping For Less: March Flavor of the Month Card Kit. I really enjoyed the versatility of this kit and the contents it provided to make four very different celebratory cards.

Scrapping For Less: Flavor of the Month March Card Kit

Card 1 – Collection One – Sketch 3

For my first card, I used the ice cream image by Scrapping For Less. I used my Copic markers to color the image and my Scan N Cut Machine to cut the image out leaving a small white border.

Scrapping For Less March 2019 Flavor of the Month Card Kit Let’s Celebrate. Collection one: Ice Cream Stamp and Ice Cream Celebrations patterned paper by Scrapping For Less.

Card 2 – Collection Two – Sketch 2

For the second card, I decided to make a shaker card. Now shaker cards are not my strong suit but I think I managed to make a decent shaker using the papers and ephemera by Scrapping For Less.

Scrapping For Less March 2019 Flavor of the Month Card Kit Let’s Celebrate. Collection two: Happy Birthday Ephemera and Happy Birthday patterned paper by Scrapping For Less.

Card 3 – Collection Three – Sketch 4

This was a very special card to make for it has an intended recipient. I loosely followed sketch number 4 for this card and created half ovals instead of diamond-shaped elements. I colored the baby images by Your Next Stamp with Copic markers and cut them out using my Scan N Cut machine.

Scrapping For Less March 2019 Flavor of the Month Card Kit Let’s Celebrate. Collection three: Baby Stamp and Sweet Baby Paper by Your Next Stamp.

Card 4 – Collection Four – Sketch 2

And finally, for the last card, I used the gold speckled acetate on top of the cut apart provided in my collection to create an elegant and sweet card.

Scrapping For Less: FOTM January 2019 Card Kit | Perk Up and Start the New Year | 4 Cards from 1 Kit

Hello everyone,

Today I’m sharing the four cards I made using the Scrapping For Less: January Flavor of the Month Card Kit. The January kit is called “Perk Up and Start the New Year” and is all coffee themed. There are still some kits available for purchase here.

ScrappingForLessJanuary2019CardKit3
Scrapping For Less January 2019 FOTM Card Kit Perk Up and Start the New Year featuring from collection one: Humming Along stamp by Scrapping For less and Coffee Time patterned paper by Scrapping For Less.
Scrapping For Less January 2019 FOTM Card Kit Perk Up and Start the New Year featuring from collection three: Coffee Break Marci stamp by La-La Land Crafts and Coffee and Friends patterned paper by Scrapping For Less.
Scrapping For Less January 2019 FOTM Card Kit Perk Up and Start the New Year featuring from collection four: Brew it Anya stamp by The Greeting Farm and Coffee Collection patterned paper by Echo Park.

Card 1 – Collection One – Sketch 1

For my first card, I used the coffee cup and the humming bird from the collection one stamp set. I used my Copic markers to color up both of the images, leaving the cup image on the circle panel and fussy cutting the humming bird.

Color combinations: Cup B16, B14, B12, B00 and Coffee E00, E11, E13, E18

Scrapping For Less January 2019 FOTM Card Kit Perk Up and Start the New Year featuring from collection one: Humming Along stamp by Scrapping For less and Coffee Time patterned paper by Scrapping For Less.

Card 2 – Collection Two – Sketch 3

For the second card, I followed sketch three to create a paper layered designs for little Newton. This happens to be my most favorite card because I just adorable the color combination and of course the image of Newton.

Color combinations: Donut E49, E47, E44, RV34, RV11 Newton E44, E43, E42, E41

Scrapping For Less January 2019 FOTM Card Kit Perk Up and Start the New Year featuring from collection two: Newton’s Donut stamp by Newton’s Nook Designs and Love, Coffee and Donuts patterned paper by Scrapping For Less.

Card 3 – Collection Three – Sketch 4

For this card, I tried my hand at creating double shaker elements and was besieged with a number of issues along the way, hence why shaker cards are not my strong suit. In the end, the card does look adorable with the shaker elements and I love it.

Color combination: Skin: E00, E11, E13, R20 Hair E47, E44, E43, E42 Clothes BG45, BG53, E53, E50, E13, E18 Coffee E50, E53, E18, E15

Scrapping For Less January 2019 FOTM Card Kit Perk Up and Start the New Year featuring from collection three: Coffee Break Marci stamp by La-La Land Crafts and Coffee and Friends patterned paper by Scrapping For Less.

Card 4 – Collection Four – Sketch 2

And finally, for the last card I used my Copic markers to color up Anya in semi neutral tones. I wanted her to stand out against some of the business of the patterned paper behind her.

Color combinations: Skin E04, E21, E13, E11, E00, E000, R22, R20 Hair E29, E18, E15, E13, E11 Clothes RV14, RV13, EV11, N5, N3, N1, N0 Purse G99, G94, G24 Coffee E13, E11, E00, E29, E27, E25, E21

Gerda Steiner Designs | More Than Pie Valentine’s Day Card | Valentine’s Day 2019 Series

Hello everyone,

Today I’m sharing a quick Valentine’s Day inspired card for the Valentine’s Day Series on my YouTube Channel. This one features the adorable teddy bear from Gerda Steiner Designs’ More Than Pie Stamp Set.

Gerda Steiner Designs More Than Pie colored with Copic Markers and patterned paper layered sketch Valentine’s Day card.

I just adore how sweet he is and he is so perfect for a Valentine’s Day card. I started my card by stamping the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock so that I can use my Copic markers to color in the image. After coloring, I used my ScanNCut to cut the image out leaving a small border.

Copic color combination

Bear: E31, E33, E35, E37
Ears: RV00, RV11
Snout: E50, E53
Nose/paw pads: W7

I typically do not include the Copic coloring in my process videos but I decided to for this one which I’ve linked below to check out!

Gerda Steiner Designs More Than Pie colored with Copic Markers and patterned paper layered sketch Valentine’s Day card.

I used Valentine’s Day paper from a paper pad I had in my stash, this one happens to be last year’s Recollections Valentine’s Day collection. I followed a sketch design to arrange my die cut papers and adhered them onto a card base. For a little dimension I added fun foam to the last patterned paper layer then added my focal point image and finished off the card with a sentiment and a few pink hearts.

Take a look at the process video of this card and all of the details of the GIVEAWAY in the video description area!

Well that’s all for this project, I hope you found it inspiring and as always, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

Scrapping For Less: FOTM December 2018 Card Kit | Arctic Animals | 4 Cards from 1 Kit

Hello everyone,

Today I’m sharing the cards I made using the Scrapping For Less: December 2018 Flavor of the Month Card Kit called Animals in the Arctic. This has to be my most favorite kit thus far. It features all of my most favorite animals in the Arctic and as a bonus, the color of the kit is predominantly purple in color. Which is definitely my favorite! And now onto the cards.

Each card is created with the contents of one of the collections and follows the suggested sketch provided on the Scrapping For Less website here.

Sadly, the kit is sold out for the banana split level but there seems to be an option for the double dip kit or the Ala Carte products.

Scrapping For Less December 2018 FOTM Card Animals in the Arctic featuring from collection one: Bear Hugs by Sunny Studios and Winter Skies by Scrapping For Less patterned paper.
Scrapping For Less December 2018 FOTM Card Animals in the Arctic featuring from collection two: Penguin with a mug by Stamping Bella and Chill by Scrapping For Less patterned paper.
Scrapping For Less December 2018 FOTM Card Animals in the Arctic featuring from collection three: Winter Pals by Pink and Main and Frosty by Pink and Main patterned paper.
Scrapping For Less December 2018 FOTM Card Animals in the Arctic featuring from collection four: Arctic Animals by LDRS and Arctic Snowfall by LDRS patterned paper.

Card 1 – Collection One – Sketch # 4

For my first card, I used the super adorable polar bear (happens to be my most favorite Arctic animal) and followed sketch number four. I combined the collection one stamp with the Christmas Tree stencil to create a nighttime winter inspired scene.

I colored the bear using Copic markers, white heat embossed the sentiment and added the beautiful patterned paper to complete this card.

Card 2 – Collection Two – Sketch # 2

For the second card, I followed sketch two and decided to try my hand at monochromatic coloring of the super sweet penguin by Stamping Bella.

Card 3 – Collection Three – Sketch #3

For this and the last card of the kit, I created one-layer mini scenes, which happens to be one of my most favorite techniques in creating cards. The third card features two of the most adorable Arctic animals floating on an iceberg. I used my Copic markers to  color the entire scene including the water and the sky. As a final touch I added snow with a white gel pen because it would snow in the Arctic!

Card 4 – Collection Four – Sketch #1

And finally for the last card for this kit, I stamped the sweet momma and baby fox from the Arctic Animals stamp by LDRS on Grapesicle  cardstock and used my Fabre-Castell Polychromos Colored Pencil that I got from my beautiful sister for Christmas. This is my favorite card I made from this kit!

Simon Says Stamp August 2018 Card Kit | 4 cards from 1 kit

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing several techniques for the four cards I made using the contents of Simon Says Stamp August 2018 Card Kit.

Stamp August 2018 Card Kit called Mandy’s Flowers featuring rainbow watercolored Modern Rose Blooms stamp background card.
Simon Says Stamp August 2018 Card Kit called Mandy’s Flowers featuring single layer card design with the fence stamp and hand drawn flowers.
Simon Says Stamp August 2018 Card Kit called Mandy’s Flowers featuring layered patterned paper with floral image.
Stamp August 2018 Card Kit called Mandy’s Flowers featuring ink blended Modern Rose Blooms background card.

The first card I made incorporates a single image stamp with a patterned paper (happens to be my favorite) from the kit. I layered the patterned paper with a piece of craft cardstock in between to create a very vintage inspired look to this card. The stamped and colored image combined with a simple sentiment on top a piece of vellum completes this card.

Simon Says Stamp August 2018 Card Kit called Mandy’s Flowers featuring layered patterned paper with floral image.

The focus on the second card was a single layer card technique really to showcase the sentiment. I absolutely love the font of that sentiment. The card itself sort of has a watercolor picturesque feel with an inlay design of the card panel.

The third card I made incorporates a white heat embossed background of the Modern Rose Blooms stamp with a layer of Tattered Rose Distress Ink. The floral stamp with a sentiment are stamped and white heat embossed onto a piece of vellum which was fussy cut around the edge. Once I layered the focal point panel on top of the ink blended background, I felt as though it was blending in to the background. I never realized that you can color vellum. I only tried using my Copic Markers to go over the vellum but in the future I will use different mediums and see how it results.

For the fourth card and my favorite, I white heat embossed the background with the Modern Rose Blooms stamp this time onto a piece of watercolor cardstock. I wanted to create a rainbow card for some time and this was the perfect opportunity. Using my Prima Marketing Watercolors, I added all of the colors of the rainbow and finished the card off with a simple sentiment embossed onto a piece of black cardstock. I really wanted the focus to be on the rainbow background and I think I achieved that.

I had a lot of fun creating cards from this kit, I only wish I had more time to create but alas the day of a mom is never done and that’s all for me today! Check out the video link below to see how I created these cards. As always thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

These cards are entered in the following challenges: Cardz TV | Creative Craft Cottage | Pammies Inky Pinkie Challenge | Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge | Papernest Dolls Challenge Blog| Lemon Short Bread Challenge |

Spring + Summer 2018 Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop | Craftin’ Desert Diva Cactus Coffee | Copic markers

Hello everyone,

I have one last card that I made for the Spring+Summer 2018 Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop featuring a Craftin’ Desert Diva Digi Stamp of this adorable cactus with a coffee cut!

Craftin Desert Diva Cactus Coffee Digital stamp Copic colored and patterned paper Coffee card.

I printed my image onto Neenah Solar white 80lb. cardstock with a laser printer and colored my images using Copic markers.

Color combination I used:

Cactus: YG07, YG05, YG03 and YG01
Flower and cup: Y35 and Y32
Pot: RV34, RV11 and RV10

Craftin Desert Diva Cactus Coffee Digital stamp Copic colored and patterned paper Coffee card.

I used two patterned papers from two different collections for the base of the card and rectangle for the cactus to sit on.

I decided to create my own sentiment based on the discussion I had with my kids earlier about needs vs. wants. Any true coffee drinker knows that COFFEE is a NEED!

I kept this card pretty simple because of the busyness of the patterned paper and of course the star of the card, the little adorable cactus.

That’s all for me today, thanks for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

P.S. I edit all my projects using Pic Monkey, which allows me to crop my images, add effects, adjust exposures, sharpen colors, minor touch up and add my watermark. Click here for more information
