Oak Leaves Fall Card | Miss Kate Cuttables Guest Designer

Hello everyone,

I am so excited to be a guest designer for Miss Kate Cuttables and share with you this very elegant Fall inspired card.

Miss Kate Cuttables SVG file Oak Leaves colored with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Marker Fall inspired card created with Cricut Explorer.

I used a Miss Kate Cuttables file called Oak Leaves and my Cricut to cut the SVG out of cardstock. For the acorn pieces, I used various shades of brown cardstock to create the illusion of dimension by layering the cut pieces.

I was really inspired by my recent trip to Chicago and seeing all of the bright and bold colors of leaves changing for the Fall season. I wanted to recreate the boldness of those leaves in my card and after cutting the oak leaves from Neenah 110lb. smooth white cardstock, I colored them using my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers.

The markers I used to color the leaves are Olive Jade, Smoked Quartz, Harvest Moon, Red Berry and Moonlight.

Once the cutting, coloring and adhering all of the pieces was complete, I used a wood grain patterned paper for the card base. I white heat embossed the sentiment and completed the card with orange enamel dots.

That’s all for me today, check out the video link below to see how I created this card. As always thanks for stopping by, until next time…. sprinkle a little creativity on your day!

P.S. I edit all my projects using Pic Monkey, which allows me to crop my images, add effects, adjust exposures, sharpen colors, minor touch up and add my watermark. Click here for more information

St. Patrick’s Day cards using Cricut

Hey everyone,

Today I have two little cards that are St. Patrick’s Day inspired. Even though St. Patrick’s Day was two weeks ago, these two little guys were made to be submitted to another bloggers mail call. This will be my first card that I participate with and I think it turned out super cute.

The first card was created using my Cricut and various Recollections colored paper. The little Leprechaun Teddy Bear comes from Teddy Bear Parade cartridge and was cut at 1.80”x 2.56”. I adhered all of the pieces with tacky glue and popped his on some foam dots for dimension. He is sitting on top of a Squared Loop Design Label from Elegant Edges cartridge.  This piece was cut at 3.06” x 3.74” to make it look more like a rectangle. Using a four leaf clover from Lawn Fawn stamp set called Plan on it: Holidays and leaf green archival ink, I stamped it to design a background of sorts. If I had to do it over again, I think I would have used black ink instead.

In any event, I adhered the frame with foam tape to add a little more dimension to the card. Using lime green card stock I adhered it to an A2 card base, then I adhered a piece of patterned paper cut at 4” x 5.25” to complete the card. The patterned paper is from Recollections Christmas paper pad called Sugar plum.

Since I did not have a St. Patrick’s Day sentiment to stamp, and for some odd reason I specifically wanted the card to read “Lots O’ Luck”, I got a little creative and printed it on cardstock from Microsoft word. And that completes my first St. Patrick’s Day card.

The second card was made using again my Cricut and various Recollections papers. The cute little leaping Leprechaun comes from the Simply Charmed cartridge and was cut at 1.65” x 2.33”.

Using a pearled green Bazzill paper I cut the Scallop Oval label from the Elegant Edges cartridge at 2.48” x 3.18” with a dark green base paper underneath.

The patterned paper come from Authenituque paper pad called Emerald and I used the little clover in a row paper that I adhered to my A2 card base.

The sentiment I used was created using my Cricut machine and 0.4 tip black pen. (My first go at it and I think it turned out pretty good). And then I cut the label from Heritage cartridge.

I adhered all the pieces and added a little green ribbon to add some interest to the card.
