Newton's Nook Candy Cane

Hey crafty friends! Now that Thanksgiving is over, it is time to start making those Christmas cards. I am starting my Christmas card making with this adorable cat by Newton’s Nook Designs. This stamp is called Candy Cane and it is adorably festive for the occasion.

To begin, I stamped all of the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto smooth cardstock. Using my Copic Markers, I colored all of the images.

Copic Marker Combination

Cat: E44, E43, E42, R22, R20, R30
Belly: E42, E41, E40
Red: R39, R27, R24
White: N3, N1, N0

After coloring the images, I used my ScanNCut to cut the images out leaving a small border.

Working on the background, I ink blended a piece of smooth cardstock using Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Next, I trimmed the panel into three pieces and matted the ink blended panels onto a piece of white A2-sized card front.

At this point, I was ready to assemble all of the elements onto a card base. I heat embossed a sentiment, added the images, and finished the card with a white frame.

This card was inspired by the current Newton’s Nook Inky Paws Challenge. As always thank you so much for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
