Hero Arts My Monthly Hero July 2020 Card Ideas | 5 Cards

Hello everyone, Today I’m excited to share the five cards I made using the Hero Arts July 2020 My Monthly Hero Card Kit. This kit is still available and if you like the Atlantis, underwater theme then this kit is definitely for you.

For my first card, I used the contents of the main kit and created a somewhat monochromatic look to this card. I stamped the layering stamps using Blue Hawaii Reactive ink from the kit, VersaFine Onyx Black ink then clear embossed it, and finally the last layer I stamped with VersaMark Embossing ink and added clear embossing powder to finish.

The background panel was ink blended with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink and faded out towards the top. And finally, I adhered all of the images to the card front and finished this card by adhering the entire panel to an A2 sized top folding white card base.

For the second card, I made a shaker card using an oval die from the Hero Arts Oval Infinity Die set and adhered it to a bright ink blended background panel. I used the reactive inks for this panel and the Fancy Edge die from the main kit.

Since I have been on this slimline card front kick lately, it was only fitting to make at least one slimline card using this kit. I began by die cutting a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock with the Trinity Stamps’ Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Window Dies and ink blended the panel followed by ink smooshing several more shades of Distress Oxide inks.

I really wanted a subtle background and muted tones for this card, so I reached for Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink to layer the background stamp. I added black VersaFine ink for the second layer and used the Coral Embossing Powder from the kit for the third layer of the stamp.

To finish this card, I stamped the silhouette of the fish image from the main kit, three times, added glossy accents to the images, and added a few of the clear drops by Studio Katia.

This happens to be my favorite card because of the ink blended panel. I did use Distress Ink for this panel for a more vibrant look. I die cut the panel with the Underwater Pillar Window die and added the jellyfish image from the Need A Hand stamp, which are both add-on items.

And finally, on card number five, I used several of the other images including that adorable octopus from the Need a Hand Stamp set and added the Waves and Clouds background cling stamp over an ink blended panel.

Scrapping For Less June 2019 Card Kit | Under the Sea Babies | 5 Cards from 1 Kit

In today’s video and blog post I’m sharing the five cards I made using the Scrapping For Less: June Flavor of the Month Card Kit.
June’s theme is all about under the sea babies!

[easy-image-collage id=1882]

Card 1 – Collection One – Sketch 1

For the first card, I colored all of the images from the Avery Elle stamp set with Copic markers and cut them out using my ScanN Cut.
I cut the patterned paper following the sketch format only changing the measurements to complete this card.

Card 2 – Collection Two – Sketch 3

For the second card, I followed sketch three to arrange all of the elements onto an A2 top folding card base. I limited the number of
patterns in this card by omitting the center panel and adding a piece of light blue vellum. I love using this trick to help tone
down some of the business on the background and often will use a piece of vellum instead of adding another patterned paper element.

Card 3 – Collection Three – Sketch 4

For this card, I combined two panels of patterned paper and separated the panels with a piece of black cardstock, which I used to
stamp the sentiment on. I did omit the oval element in the sketch for this card but I felt that it worked for this card.

Card 4 – Collection Four – Sketch 2

I wanted to incorporate the stencil in this card and add a little glitzy shimmer by adding glitter paste by Bo Bunny in Turquoise.
I love to combine teal and purple colors together so naturally, I added a purple polka-dot patterned paper and my focal
point images to complete this card.

Card 5 – Bonus Card

I wanted to create a card with these adorable sea horses and I thought I would make a shaker card. Now, I still struggle to make
those and made a couple of mistakes but in the end, I love the end result of this card.

Simon Says Stamp June 2018 Card Kit | Fly Me Away | 5 Cards 1 Kit

After what seems like an eternity waiting on my computer I finally got the word that it’s not fixable and am on my way to replacement. My computer had the unfortunate accident of meeting with two jumping kids, I suppose I share some of the blame for leaving it where I left it for the damage to occur.

In the meantime, to control my anxiety I sat down to create several cards using the contents of the June 2018 Simon Says Stamp card kit. It’s a beautiful kit featuring floral images and papers with a watercolor look.

[easy-image-collage id=1111]

I had a hard time cutting into the lovely patterned paper but I did manage to bring myself to use a few. For the first card, I made a no bulk shaker card using tulle and this beautiful feathers patterned paper that I die cut using Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle frames.  This allowed me to create the frame which I tucked the tulle under after adding some coordinating sequence. To complete this card, I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto a piece of black cardstock and added it to the top of the card.

For the second card, I again used a piece of patterned paper that I cut slightly smaller using a stitched rectangle die from MFT. I wanted a slight border of the cardstock underneath. Then I stamped the floral images and embossed them with silver embossing powder onto a piece of watercolor paper. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color up the images and fussy cut them out. I popped up the floral images onto foam tape and arranged them to the center of the card. For the sentiment I used one of larger stamps and added it across the entire length of the card.

For the third card, I used the purple balloon paper, which happens to be my favorite from the collection. The original intent of this card was to be the shaker card but I inadvertently cut it incorrectly and I had to come up with a plan B.
Plan B was to cut the patterned paper down to 5 1/2” by 4” leaving a small space on the sides and adhering it on top of the black and white stripped paper from my stash. To finish this card, I added the sentiment and added small strips of black cardstock to the sides for a smoother transition.

I thought I would try using the embossing folder for card four and embossed a piece of white cardstock which was cut on an angle. I took an ink blending tool and Tonic Studios Mousse in Aquamarine and with a very light hand added the mousse to the embossed cardstock. Adding a strip of the gold cardstock and embossing the sentiment completed this card.

Simon Says Stamp June 2018 Card Kit

For the final card from the June 2018 Card kit, I decided to create a card with the entire large stamp image. First, I stamped with large floral image onto a piece of watercolor cardstock and embossed it with gold embossing powder. Using the Gansai Tambi Watercolors, I colored the image with pink and green. I then fussy cut the image and added a layer of foam tape to the back of the floral image to pop it up for a little dimension. To add a little elegance to this card, I inked up the edges with VersaMark and embossed the edges with gold embossing powder.

I hope that the cards I made are inspiring and gives you some ideas to try. While the kit is sold out, the components of the kit are available to purchase separately at Simon Says Stamp!
