Hi everyone, I hope everyone is staying healthy and sane. When I need to unplug from everything around me, I usually sit and color.
And, since I needed a birthday card for one of my students, I thought it was a perfect opportunity to create a card.
I’m using the super sweet Dragon Party stamp by Whimsy Stamps to create a Birthday Celebration card.
I began by stamping the image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and colored in the dragon with Copic markers.
Using the ScanNCut, I cut the image out and set it aside to work on the background.
Copic Markers Combination
Dragon: G28, G07, G05, G03, YG13, YG11
Purple: V09, V17, V12, V01, V000
White trim: W5, W3, W1, W00
For the background, I ink blended a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Salty Ocean Distress ink and used a polka dot
stencil with white pigment ink to add a little interest on the background. Once the background was dry, I die cut the
panel with a stitched rectangle die.
To finish this card, I die-cut white cardstock using a stitched cloud border die and stamped the sentiment on top of one
of the die cuts. I adhered the clouds to the background panel, popping up the top layer with foam tape. I stamped a small
birthday sentiment from the Everyday Scripted Sentiments onto a piece of black cardstock and white heat embossed it,
then trimmed the small strip. And finally, I added the dragon image to the front with foam tape to
complete this sweet birthday card.
I really love how whimsy this card turned out and I can’t wait to give it my student.
Thank you so much for stopping by, until next time….sprinkle a little creativity on your day!
